    Abstract: A liquid fuel pumping apparatus includes a plunger and a piston which together are moved inwardly by cam means to deliver excess fuel for starting an engine, the plunger only being effective to supply fuel to the engine when the latter has attained a predetermined speed. The piston constitutes a valve to permit fuel and any air contained within the cylinder to escape from the cylinder during the initial inward movement of the piston.
