Patent number: 11962009Abstract: A high-performance electrochemically active sodium molten salt catholyte enables a dramatic reduction in molten sodium battery operating temperature from near 300° C. to less than 120° C. As an example, stable electrochemical cycling was demonstrated in a high voltage (3.65 V) sodium battery comprising a sodium iodide-gallium chloride (NaI—GaCl3) molten salt catholyte for over 8 months at 110° C. The combination of high voltage, stable cycling behavior, and practical current densities supported by a molten catholyte enables a new generation of transformative high performance, low temperature molten sodium batteries.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 2021Date of Patent: April 16, 2024Assignee: National Technology & Engineering Solutions of Sandia, LLCInventors: Erik D. Spoerke, Stephen J. Percival, Martha M. Gross, Rose Y. Lee, Leo J. Small

Patent number: 10149780Abstract: A compression undergarment to relief the symptoms of menstrual cramping may comprise a first and second pad both capable of conforming to a female user's hips. Each pad is tapered having two part construction. Such construction may include a pliable exterior panel of resilient material and an interior panel made of compressible material. The second component of the apparatus is a compression undergarment having a first and corresponding second annular sleeve. Such compression undergarment includes a front side, back side, first leg portion and second leg portion, such that positioned above the first leg portion and second leg portion is a top portion which connects both leg portions. The compression undergarment also includes a first annular sleeve capable of receiving the first pad and the second annual sleeve capable of receiving the second pad. The third component is a compression band that fits around both pads and the compression undergarment.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 2010Date of Patent: December 11, 2018Assignee: ZIIVAA IP, LLCInventors: Stephen D. Lee, Glenn Akhavein, Robert Brady, Daniel Dugas

Patent number: 9107753Abstract: A method to relieve menstrual cramping which includes the step of placing one or more symmetrical tapered pads having an inner and outer side, each outer side being semi-rigid and each inner side being flexible and compressible. The outer side of each pad is affixed to one or more straps having a first and corresponding second end. A fastener is connected so to attach the first end of each strap to a corresponding second fastener at the second end of each strap as an additional step. The apparatus also includes a constricting device (such as a ratchet) located on or proximate to one pad sufficient to create a compression force through each strap when the first and corresponding second fasteners connect to one another.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 2012Date of Patent: August 18, 2015Assignee: ZIIVAA IP, LLCInventor: Stephen D. Patent number: 8191550Abstract: An apparatus to relieve menstrual cramping includes one or more tapered pads having an inner and outer side, each outer side being semi-rigid and each inner side being flexible. The outer side of each pad is connected to one or more straps having first and second ends. A fastener is attached to the first end of each strap and a corresponding second fastener attaches to the second end of each strap. The apparatus includes a variable compression drive located proximate to one pad to create a compression force through each strap when the first and corresponding second fasteners connect. The drive includes an outer drum shell, an inner rotator having an inner diameter that is treaded, a motor which communications with the inner rotator, and a threaded shaft which engages the inner diameter of the inner rotator. A tab attaches the threaded shaft to the strap.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2010Date of Patent: June 5, 2012Assignee: Embrace, LLCInventors: Stephen D. Lee, Glenn Akhavein, Robert Brady, Daniel Dugas
