  • Publication number: 20240139118
Abstract: Devices and methods for selectively accessing tissue for sensing or drug release are provided. A device includes an array of wells formed in a substrate supporting a plurality of membranes. Each membrane is disposed at a well opening of one of the wells of the array. The device further includes an actuator and electronics configured to control the actuator to supply a vibration through the substrate. The supplied vibration is configured to selectively rupture one of the plurality of membranes at a defined timepoint to selectively give access to tissue through a well opening.

  • Patent number: 4731967
Abstract: The invention provides a chimney structure comprising a base member of fireproof material and a hollow metallic core resting on said base member enclosed in an outer shell which is spaced from the latter. The core comprises a stacked series of individual hollow stainless steel sections joined together to define a vertical flue of the required length extending upwardly from the base member having at least one opening at a desired height above the base suitable for use as a clean-out and/or appliance connection. The shell is a vertical enclosure surrounding and spaced from the core and comprises vertically stacked box-like units assembled from four calcium silicate panels each and holding blocks separating the units from each other vertically, the lowermost unit resting on the base member.

  • Patent number: 4719901
Abstract: There is provided a non-flammable pass-through unit for installation in new construction or as a substitute for a removed section of existing flammable wall in a building for the purpose of allowing the safe installation of a heating appliance, such as a wood or coal stove, and which will reduce the required clearances from a heating appliance to the wall in registry with a flue opening in an existing chimney located behind the wall. The unit comprises a frame composed of non-flammable vertical and horizontal galvanized sheet metal mambers. The metal frame defines an opening which, when the frame is installed, is centered on the axis of the chimney flue opening. A heat resistant, non-flammable tunnel is fitted into the opening and is butted against the chimney.
