  • Patent number: 7283100
Abstract: An antenna structure and assembly is disclosed. The antenna structure includes a case that provides a capacitive coupling between a ground plane and a circuit board assembly that includes a low noise amplifier and satellite antenna. The case includes a metal impregnated thermoplastic resin. The ground plane may include at least one resilient fastener receiving portion that permits passage and frictional retention of at least one integrated fastening portion extending from the case. The antenna structure includes a cover portion placed over and ultrasonically welded to the case for encapsulating the circuit board assembly. A method for manufacturing the antenna structure is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5219135
Abstract: A display apparatus includes a gauge with a first set of feature surfaces and a light pipe into which are integrally molded a second set of feature surfaces, wherein the first and second set of feature surfaces are engaged to integrally secure the gauge to the light pipe, whereby the light pipe performs dual functions of transmitting light and retaining the gauge.

  • Patent number: 4736844
Abstract: A device for enabling the safe disposal of contaminated used disposable blades, needles, and other sharps resulting from surgery or medical treatment comprises a container (1) having two compartments, a first, closed compartment (2) including a slot (16) and a re-entrant wall portion (12) and a second compartment (3) including a hinged lid (4). Means (8, 9) are provided inside the second compartment (3) securely to hold used needles (22, 23, 24) and a catch (7) is provided to hold the lid (4) of the second compartment (3) closed. The slot (16) and re-entrant wall portion (12) enable a used blade to be inserted into the slot (16) with the re-entrant wall portion accommodating a handle upon which the used blade is mounted and a disarming unit (14, 15) is located adjacent the slot (16) and re-entrant wall portion (12) to remove the blade from the handle. At least part of the wall (10) of the first compartment (2) is transparent to enable the contents of the first compartment (2) to be inspected and counted.

  • Patent number: 4347700
Abstract: This invention resides in a closed system, with permanently fixed end plates, which permits the pump-motor of the present invention to operate either as a combined pump-motor, or as a pump only, or solely as a motor. Rotators of this invention have parallel axes normal to the end plates which they intersect at fixed coordinates. That makes possible direct drive to or from a rotator shaft extension or the enclosing cylindrical rotator. In the device of this invention, the end-plates are non-rotary, but the cylindrical shell or housing always rotates. The plurality of rotators within the cylinder define a plurality of fluid pressure zones. Some of the rotators have a relatively smooth surface; the others have relatively gear-like surfaces. When the unit operates as a pump, a shaft extension of one of the rotators protrudes through one of the end plates and is coupled with an input power source such as the crank or pedals of a bicycle.
