  • Publication number: 20170123598
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments help the user of an electronic device with a touch screen to quickly and accurately select an actionable component on the touch screen before launching an application and reduce errors that can occur by inadvertently touching the wrong component. This problem is solved by providing a way to place the focus on a component (e.g., soft keyboard key) of the user interface before launching the associated application. A relative distance algorithm may be used to determine the closest actionable component to the touch point. Focus is placed on that component by highlighting, speech, audio indicator or some other means, clearly indicating to the user which icon has been selected.

  • Publication number: 20160018042
Abstract: A pressure plug is disclosed and includes a circular and threaded plate, a flexible sealing collar, a pressure plate, and a T handle. The circular threaded pate receives the bottom edge of the flexible sealing collar in a stepped upward surface, and the pressure plate is placed on top of the sealing collar. The threaded plate has a shaft extended upward from its center and towards a hole in the top pressure plate having an angled surface on its outer bottom face. The T handle is threaded onto the threaded shaft, and as the T handle is tightened the two plates are pulled toward each other. This forces the upper edge of the sealing collar outwardly against the inside diameter of the pipe, thereby creating a seal. By sealing both ends of the pipe, then the heated pipe can be re-shaped, while the contained pressure prevents collapsing or kinking of the pipe.

  • Publication number: 20040097326
Abstract: A variable ratio transmission having an input (14) and an output (21) and being of the epicyclic type involving a sun element (17, 16)), a ring element (21) and a planet carrier element (22) in each of at least first (11) and second (12) unequal co-axial epicyclic assemblies, a second rotating element (22) of the first assembly (11) and a second rotating element (22) of the second assembly (12) being constrained to rotate at a common angular velocity, and control means (25) for progessively changing the gear ratio applied to a load connected to the first rotating element (21) of the first assembly (11), characterised in that the first rotating elements (21) are unequal pairs of the same mechanical elements of the respective assemblies (11, 12) and in conjunction with respective second rotating elements (22) each represents different respective fixed gear ratios relative to the input (14) and the output (21) of the transmission, the second rotating elements (22) are unequal pairs of the same mechanical element

  • Publication number: 20030061333
Abstract: The invention permits network management services, utilized by a user via a software based console, used on any network connected device, viewed as a web page via the internet. Dynamic updating of the devices available to the console is performed by a Multicast Discovery Protocol. Multicast Remote Procedure Calls permit simultaneous command processing among an authorized target group of devices. A Multicast File Transfer Protocol permits time and bandwidth efficient one to many file transfers via a data stream at a pre-specified address which many clients simultaneously monitor. Hand shaking for the transfer is rotated among the clients so that they may each recover any lost data frames. Use of client registries for storing network data allows clients to be automatically configured upon connection to the network. Virtual monitoring and control over the clients may be exercised from the console by executing remote procedure calls.
