Magnetically Opposed, Iron Core Linear Motor Based Motion Stages For Semiconductor Wafer Positioning
Publication number: 20240120235Abstract: Methods and systems for realizing a high throughput wafer positioning system with high positioning accuracy are presented herein. The high throughput, high accuracy wafer positioning system is employed to measure structural and material characteristics (e.g., material composition, dimensional characteristics of structures and films, etc.) associated with different semiconductor fabrication processes. In one aspect, iron core linear motor assemblies are arranged in a magnetically opposed configuration such that the magnetic attraction forces inherent to each opposing iron core linear motor assembly largely cancel one another. The reduced force applied to sensitive stage frame elements, in turn, reduces induced deformations and stage positioning errors. In some embodiments, a wafer positioning system includes stacked magnetically opposed long stroke stages.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 2, 2023Publication date: April 11, 2024Inventors: Michel Pharand, Stephen Doll, Samir Nayfeh -
Publication number: 20230175772Abstract: A method for supplementing condenser heat rejection in natural gas processing including passing unprocessed gas through a gas-to-chilling fluid heat exchanger, transferring cooled and condensed gas to a vapor liquid separator, sending the chilling fluid to a chilling fluid reservoir, directing the chilling fluid to a refrigeration sub-system, circulating refrigerant throughout the refrigeration sub-system, touting vapor refrigerant through a refrigeration compressor, sending the vapor refrigerant to a refrigeration condenser, routing the liquid refrigerant to an accumulator tank and through an expansion valve, muting the reduced-pressure liquid refrigerant to the evaporator, and passing at least a portion of the processed vapor to a processed vapor-to-refrigerant heat exchanger via an actuated valve controlled by a processor to remove heat from the liquid refrigerant before the liquid refrigerant is sent to the expansion valve.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 9, 2022Publication date: June 8, 2023Inventors: Mark Peterson, James L. Publication number: 20220219111Abstract: A system and method for treating gas to fuel turbines by passing raw gas through an inlet pressure reducing valve to adjust the gas pressure and through a scrubber to capture liquids from the gas. Next, the gas is passed through a compressor to bring it to a pressure above that required by an inlet of a turbine and then to a post-compression aerial cooler that cools the gas to a temperature lower than a required dewpoint at fuel delivery pressure. Next, natural gas liquids are removed from the gas by passing it through a separator. A first portion of the cooled compressed gas is sent through a gas-to-gas heat exchanger, creating heated compressed gas, and a second portion of the cooled compressed gas passes through a backpressure valve. The heated compressed gas is blended with the second portion to create a fuel gas stream with a desired delivery temperature.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 6, 2022Publication date: July 14, 2022Inventors: Brian R. Cebull, Mark Peterson, James L. Haider, Austin Vandelinder, Stephen Doll

Publication number: 20220049896Abstract: A system and method for treating associated gas in which a stream of raw gas is passed through safety valving, an inlet pressure control mechanism, and an inlet scrubber. Pressure/temperature data is transmitted to a control system via pressure and temperature transducers. The raw gas is sent to a gas compressor to generate pressurized gas, which is sent to an aerial cooler and a chiller heat exchanger, in which a chilling media contacts the pressurized gas. The chilled pressurized gas is sent to a vapor liquid separator to generate processed gas, which is routed through either a system backpressure valve or a pressure reducing recycle valve that directs the processed gas to the inlet scrubber. The processed gas that has passed through the system backpressure valve is delivered as fuel or routed through a backpressure regulating recycle valve that directs the processed gas to a system inlet pressure reducing valve.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 15, 2021Publication date: February 17, 2022Inventors: Mark Peterson, James L. Haider, Brian R. Cebull, Austin VanDelinder, Tim Boelter, Stephen Doll, Wade Wolf, Joey Hope

Patent number: 7454616Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of a method (10) for authenticating software in a cable modem makes use of a secure key and certificate stored in flash memory. In this exemplary embodiment, the code employs a key to validate (16) a signature that is generated for each new build of the code. During build of the code, the code is digitally signed (12) using e.g., a Motorola RSA private key. The message digest and the signature are then stored at the end of code file itself (13). Each time the modem (52) reboots, the code can validate (16) that the image in flash has not been modified. This validation function (16) can be accomplished e.g., by calling an RSA Signature Verification function to confirm that the signature in the header equals the message digest signed by the manufacturer's private key or the manufacturer's CVC.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 2005Date of Patent: November 18, 2008Assignee: General Instrument CorporationInventor: Robert M. Publication number: 20070276943Abstract: A system and method are provided for preventing a cloned modem from completing the registration process with a communications network. A cable modem termination system (CMTS) compares the media access control (MAC) address of a modem attempting to register with the network with a list of cable modems that are currently registered. If the MAC address is already contained in the list, the CMTS examines communication characteristics associated with the modem to determine if the device attempting to register is a clone. Additionally, a network monitoring system may be used to monitor the MAC addresses contained in DHCP messages to determine if a modem is potentially a clone.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 16, 2006Publication date: November 29, 2007Applicant: GENERAL INSTRUMENT CORPORATIONInventors: Kevin Marez, William Armbruster, Richard DiBenedetto, Tim Stephens, Robert Stephens-Doll
