  • Patent number: 5289962
Abstract: A cup holder includes a platform adapted to radially pivot outward from an inclined vehicle structure such that the platform when fully extended in the outward position is substantially horizontal. The platform includes a front wall portion and rear wall portion, and a retaining member connected between the front and rear wall portions forms an upper horizontal surface. A pair of side walls pivotally connected to the platform cooperate with the retaining member and platform to form a cavity for holding a beverage container.

  • Patent number: 4407492
Abstract: A spring mat assembly for a seat or seat back frame has a pair of relatively widely spaced longitudinal bolster wires across which a plurality of relatively closely spaced transverse stringer wires are connected as by wrapping therearound. The stringer wires extend outwardly beyond each of the bolster wires to form wing edges including a fixed wing at each end of the assembly for attachment to the seat frame, and a free wing on at least one end of the assembly to form with the adjacent fixed wing a split-wing edge on the assembly. The outwardly projecting portions of the stringer wires forming the free wing portion or portions preferably extend at an obtuse angle to their intermediate portions extending between the bolster wires, and they are interconnected at their outermost ends by a longitudinal wire as by being tightly hooked therearound.

  • Patent number: 4325542
Abstract: A seat construction comprising a frame having first and second spaced rails and a seat suspension mat comprising covered first and second border wires and a plurality of longitudinally spaced transversely extending spaced wires having their ends attached to the border wires, said first border wire being attached to the first rail and the second border wire being attached to the second rail. First and second auxiliary coated wires extending longitudinally and generally parallel to the border wires. Each transversely extending wire is wound around each of the auxiliary longitudinal wires, thereby defining a first portion extending upwardly from the first border wire to the first auxiliary wire, a second portion extending from the first auxiliary wire to the second auxiliary wire, and a sinuous portion extending from the second auxiliary wire to the second border wire.

  • Patent number: 4289304
Abstract: A seat construction comprising a frame having spaced parallel rails and a spring assembly mounted on the frame. The spring assembly including a pair of longitudinally extending wires, each wire having a resilient layer thereon, a plurality of transversely extending wires having free ends wound about the layers of the longitudinally extending wires. Each free end of each transverse wire is partially wound about a longitudinally extending wire and then extends over an auxiliary longitudinal wire parallel with but spaced inwardly of the longitudinal wire. Finally, the extreme free end of each transverse wire is bent inwardly toward the plane of the transverse wires. A plurality of tension springs have one end connected to a longitudinally extending wire and the other end to a rail of the frame.
