  • Publication number: 20160225562
Abstract: A circuit breaker system integrated into a package including an input for coupling to an external electrical power source, an output for coupling to an external electrical circuit, and a current path selectively coupling the input and the output. A mechanical circuit breaker mechanism interrupts electrical power flow through the current path in response to a current exceeding a predetermined value. A trip solenoid causes the mechanical circuit breaker mechanism to interrupt electrical power flow through current path in response to a control signal. Voltage and current sensors measure voltage and current values of the electrical power flowing through the current path and a microprocessor selectively generates the control signal in response to the measured voltage and current values, along with and a control profile stored in memory, to energize the solenoid and cause the mechanical circuit breaker mechanism to interrupt the electrical power.

  • Publication number: 20150207301
Abstract: A power delivery system includes a breaker panel. The breaker panel includes a plurality of circuit breakers and trip control circuitry coupled to each of the circuit breakers. The trip control logic receives a trip current value entered by a user for a selected one of the circuit breakers and a current measurement value from the selected one of the breakers. The trip control circuitry causes the selected one of the circuit breakers to trip in response to the current measurement value exceeding the trip current value.

  • Patent number: 6313623
Abstract: A Rogowski coil measures a current in a conductor and includes first and second loops electrically connected in series with each other. The first loop is wound with a substantially constant winding density in a first direction around a first core that has a substantially constant cross section. The second loop is wound with a substantially constant winding density in a second direction around a second core that has a substantially constant cross section. A direction of the first loop is substantially perpendicular to the normal of the first core cross section. Moreover, a direction of the second loop is substantially perpendicular to the normal of the second core cross section.
