  • Patent number: 10375663
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a system that receives a first notification indicating a first international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) is being registered. A communication device sends a first registration request that includes the first IMSI to a registration function. Further, an identity proxy function intercepts the first registration request and sends the first notification to the device. In addition, the system receives from a billing server a request for services for the communication device. Further, the system provides a first Over-the-Air (OTA) message to the communication device that includes a second IMSI that is provisioned onto the communication device. Also, the system sends a first registration message to the registration function. The registration function includes a registry. The first registration message includes first instructions to indicate to the registration function to add the second IMSI to the registry. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a system that receives a notification, from an identity proxy function, indicating an identity mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) is being registered. That is, a communication device sends a registration request that includes the IMSI to a first registration function. Further, the identity proxy function intercepts the registration request and sends the first notification to the device. Also, the system, sends a first registration message to the first registration function. The first registration function includes a first registry. Further, the first registration message indicates to the first registration function to add the IMSI to the first registry. The system also sends a second registration message to a second registration function. The second registration function includes a second registry. Further, the second registration message indicates to the second registration function to remove the IMSI to the first registry.

  • Publication number: 20190200213
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a system that manages utilization of mobile subscriber identity information including enabling reuse of such information by a different communication device and/or re-authorizing use by a communication device that previously was authorized to utilize the information. The reassignment of mobile subscriber identity information can be based on detecting a registration that utilizes a bootstrap mobile subscriber identity information or a registration based on a mobile subscriber identity information that the network has designated not for use by the particular communication device. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20190141038
Abstract: A system that incorporates the subject disclosure may perform, for example, obtaining programming data via an over-the-air programming message for use by a communication device, wherein the over-the-air programming message is obtained from, and encrypted by an over-the-air programming server. The over-the-air programming message is decrypted utilizing a first keyset obtained by a secure device processor processing the first keyset obtained from a remote management server via transmission by the over-the-air programming server, to generate a first-key decrypted over-the-air programming message. The decrypted over-the-air programming message is provided to a secure element to enable the secure element to further decrypt the first-key decrypted over-the-air programming message utilizing a second keyset, wherein the secure device processor does not have access to the second keyset. Other embodiments are disclosed.
