  • Publication number: 20160221816
Abstract: A system and method for automating dispensing operations such as vehicle fueling operations. The system properly matches a dispenser to a port on a specific container, thereby insuring that the proper substance is loaded into the proper container. A passive or active RF/ID module is attached to the dispenser assembly. A fuel port antenna located on the container's port is used to communicated with this RF/ID module. The fuel port antenna's driving circuitry is able to step through multiple frequencies within a defined frequency band. A suitable transmission frequency is determined and stored in memory. A container-specific frequency is thereby determined and stored for future use. The use of this optimized frequency serves the dual purposes of maintaining only a short-range R/F link while also ensuring the reliability of that link.

  • Patent number: 5923572
Abstract: The disclosed system controls, authorizes and accounts for liquid petroleum fuel dispensed from liquid petroleum fuel dispensers without the need for control and authorization input from individuals performing the fueling. The system comprises a radio frequency identification tag mounted on the fuel nozzle, an automotive information module mounted in the vehicle, a fuel island-mounted fuel management unit and on-site or remotely-located software which provides the system owner with fuel usage and invoicing reports.

  • Patent number: 4509401
Abstract: A manually portable ammunition handling and loading system for delivering live rounds of large caliber ammunition from an ammunition supply belt to an automatic weapons system such as those carried by military aircraft, and which simultaneously collects expended shell casings and unfired rounds from the weapons system. The portable loading system is selectively mounted on an ammunition supply container and a spent round collection container and serves to feed belt carried ammunition from the supply container to the weapons system and to discharge the same belt carrying shell casings and unfired rounds received from the weapons system into the collection container.

  • Patent number: 4293990
Abstract: A roll of embossed paper towelling in which the embossing comprises lands and valleys between the lands wherein the lands are in rows extending at an acute angle to the longitudinal direction of the towelling. The acute angle of the rows of lands offsets each land with respect to the lands of the next adjacent turns or layers of the towel in the roll. That causes the layers to be held apart, and the desirable characteristics of the towels are preserved. There is also apparatus and a method for producing the embossed paper towelling. An embossing roll has a continuous spiral row of embossing elements or patterns which produce the embossing on the towelling. The spiral rows are at an angle of the order of five degrees from the longitudinal edges of the towels, i.e., the edges extending in the direction of the embossed sheet.

  • Patent number: 4281583
Abstract: An ammunition supply system including a vehicle having a fluted drum which receives an ammunition belt including a plurality of interconnected tubular members each of which carries a round of ammunition of a size in the range of 20 mm to 40 mm. Within the vehicle, the shells are removed from the tubular members while the belt is on the drum and such shells are transferred to a feed belt which carries the rounds of ammunition to an armament system. Simultaneously, empty shell casings and misfired rounds are returned from the armament system and are inserted into the tubular members of the ammunition belt while such tubular members remain on the drum. Thereafter, the ammunition belt is discharged from the vehicle into a receptacle.
