Publication number: 20230105027Abstract: A virtual reality application adaptively generates a virtual reality experience intended to improve a user's mood. A plurality of digital assets is stored together with associated scores. A score for a digital asset represents a predicted amount of mood improvement occurring in a cohort of users having similar profiles to a target user in response to virtual reality experiences including the digital asset. A customized virtual reality experience is generated for the target user based at least in part of the user profile data on the scores. The user's change in mood is detected through survey and/or biometric data. Scores for the digital assets may then be updated in order to further learn their respective effects on the cohort of users.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 10, 2022Publication date: April 6, 2023Inventors: Nanea Reeves, Zachary Norman, Andreja Djokovic, Stephen Handley, Peter Kennedy, Solomon Bothwell, Hyosung Han

Publication number: 20080000169Abstract: A gutter cover according to the present invention is an extruded plastic component having a cover segment sized to extend generally across an eavestrough and merge with a rounded transition edge, said rounded transition edge joining with an undercut angled section extending rearwardly and positioned partially below the cover segment. The undercut angled section joins with a perforated pass through allowing water to pass through said cover segment at a position below and inwardly of the rounded transition edge, perforated pass through merges with an integral resilient clip having a securing cavity sized for resiliently engaging an upper outer edge of an eavestrough or for engaging a securing flange of an eavestrough hook. The gutter cover can be used with many existing vinyl or metal eavestrough systems. A particular method for producing the gutter cover is also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 30, 2006Publication date: January 3, 2008Inventor: Stephen Handley

Publication number: 20070084326Abstract: An audio application programming interface (API) enables an audio processing graph to be modified during processing. If they are received while the audio graph is playing or paused, graph modifying commands may be inserted into either an asynchronous command queue or a deferred command queue. The audio API may also include a clock manager for synchronizing clocks from a number of different connected audio rendering devices, applications, processors, functions, operations, modules, or other resources. The clock manager may provide an interface that enables a number of control groups to be defined. Each such control group may include a master clock, a slave clock, and a control.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2005Publication date: April 19, 2007Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Ashutosh Tatake, Dugan Porter, Duncan McKay, Robert Williams, Stephen Handley

Publication number: 20060288036Abstract: Generation of an index database that is customized for a specific responder device using device parameters of the responder device is provided. The index database is generated on a device other than the responder device. In accordance with one method, an indication of a selection of objects is received. Device parameters of the responder device are also accessed. An index database is generated for the selection of objects using the device parameters of the responder device. The index database may then be transferred to the responder device.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 17, 2005Publication date: December 21, 2006Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Vladimir Sadovsky, Stephen Handley, Oren Rosenbloom

Publication number: 20060185270Abstract: A component for forming a post wrap about a rectangular support member comprises an elongate plastic extruded component having two arms defining a generally “L” shaped cross section with an interior corner rounded recess at a junction of said arms. One of said arms includes a female connector extending the length of said arm and the other arm includes a male connector at a free end thereof. The male connector extends outwardly and at an angle to the other arm and is sized for receipt in the female connector. The component further includes a rounded corner transition joining the male connector to the other arm with the rounded corner transition forming a finished exterior surface of the component. Two of these components can be placed about a post after it is secured in place to provide a sleeve about the post. A trim frame can be provided to provide a finished periphery about the sleeved post at a horizontal surface.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 23, 2005Publication date: August 24, 2006Inventors: Stephen Handley, Carlo Robb

Patent number: 7017614Abstract: A repositionable downspout extension is formed as an integral blow molded plastic component having three distinct sections. A downspout connector end merges with a corrugated extendible middle section which terminates in a drainage pipe connector. The downspout connector includes two rectangular sections of different sizes defining two different securing segments for engaging two different sizes of downspouts. The middle section is of a pleated configuration and is of variable length by expanding or collapsing of the pleats. The drainage pipe connector is a circular connector for connecting with commonly used corrugated plastic pipe or rigid plastic pipe. In a preferred embodiment the downspout connector end also includes a connector for insertion and retention in the corrugated middle section.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2004Date of Patent: March 28, 2006Assignee: GSW Inc.Inventor: Stephen Handley

Publication number: 20060026280Abstract: Safe mode operation for portable devices supporting multiple protocols includes a portable device that supports multiple protocols, such as a base functionality protocol and an enhanced functionality protocol, reporting to a host device that the portable device supports only a single protocol (e.g., the base functionality protocol). This single protocol will be used for subsequent communication between the host device and the portable device. This reporting to the host device that the portable device supports only a single protocol can be triggered, for example, by an appropriate button(s) on the portable device being pressed when the portable device is powered on.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 1, 2004Publication date: February 2, 2006Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Vladimir Sadovsky, Yonghong Guo, John Dunn, Stephen Handley

Publication number: 20060026269Abstract: In accordance with certain aspects of the automatic protocol determination for portable devices supporting multiple protocols, a portable device detects which one of the multiple protocols is being used by the host device for subsequent communication with the portable device. This detection is based on the content of a command received from a host device. The detected protocol is then used by the portable device for subsequent communication with the host device. The host device may also send, to the portable device, a notification of which of the multiple protocols is being used by the host device.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 30, 2004Publication date: February 2, 2006Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Vladimir Sadovsky, Yonghong Guo, John Dunn, Stephen Handley

Publication number: 20060026270Abstract: Automatic protocol migration when upgrading operating systems includes checking, after upgrading at least a portion of an operating system of a host device, whether a new driver supporting enhanced functionality for a portable device is now available, where a driver supporting base functionality would have been previously used for communicating with the portable device. If such a new driver supporting enhanced functionality for the portable device is now available, then the host device installs the new driver supporting enhanced functionality for the portable device.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 1, 2004Publication date: February 2, 2006Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Vladimir Sadovsky, Yonghong Guo, John Dunn, Stephen Handley

Publication number: 20050167127Abstract: A gutter scoop includes a first “U” shaped scoop with a rearwardly extending elongate handle. The scoop is open at the front and closed at a rear portion thereof. A lower surface of the handle when invented defines a second smaller “U” shaped scoop. This second scoop is effective for cleaning smaller creases and clearing of clogged downspouts or discharge locations. In a preferred embodiment each scoop includes gradient lines defining specified volumes.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 20, 2004Publication date: August 4, 2005Inventor: Stephen Handley
