    Abstract: A system and method for filtering chirp noise as it passes through a Radio over Internet Protocol (RoIP) gateway in a communication network is disclosed. Radio signals often include a short burst of chirp noise. Incoming signals are buffered and any chirp noise is detected. A chirp filter performs the filtering operation to remove chirp signal while ensuring true audio is not clipped. Without audio clipping the integrity of the audio signals are preserved.

    Abstract: Methods and systems for indicating an audio forwarding failure at a Radio-over-Internet-Protocol (RoIP) gateway device of a RoIP system is disclosed. In one step, audio communication is detected from a radio handset communicatively coupled with the RoIP gateway device and is buffered. When an error in forwarding the audio communication to at least a portion of devices connected to the RoIP system, an audio notification indicative of the error is sent to the radio handset after determining the audio communication from the radio handset has ended.
