  • Patent number: 6189470
Abstract: An arrangement of sewing successive edges of material which extend in two directions. The arrangement comprises a stationary sewing table having a prescribed sewing area. The sewing table supports a carriage. A sewing machine is supported by the carriage. Drives are provided for the carriage and the sewing machine and are operative to move the carriage selectively in the X and Y directions while operating the sewing machine to sew. A material feeding assembly having an independent drive is provided to feed material into the sewing area and to maintain the fed material in the sewing area in a flat fixed position for a prescribed period of time. A control operates to actuate the feeding assembly to position the material, to actuate the sewing machine to sew and to actuate the carriage carrying the sewing machine to move in the X and Y directions about the sewing area forming automatically a folded fabric having all edges stitched.

  • Patent number: 4760628
Abstract: Methods and means for allowing heddles to be drawn-in with warp yarns away from a loom for subsequent loading into the loom. A heddle holder allows rows of drawn-in heddles to be carried to the loom. Removable heddle rod sections allow for the heddle holder to load the rows of drawn-in heddles into intermediate portions of heddle rods of adjacent harness frames. The heddle holder also positions the adjacent harness frames during loading of the drawn-in heddles. Individual warp yarn beam canisters provided with the drawn-in heddles facilitate the heddle holder loading of the drawn-in heddles into the harness frames. A protective covering protects the drawn-in warp yarns as they are transferred from the remote drawing-in site to the loom.

  • Patent number: 4432398
Abstract: An adjustable wraparound sleeve A member is disclosed for attaching a center brace 26 between top and bottom frame slats 16, 18 on a heddle frame 10 of a loom. The sleeve member may be adjusted longitudinally on the frame slat and set in place by means of locking members 56 having means C for access from above each sleeve member 30, 32 with respect to vertical arrangement of the heddle frame 10 on the loom. The locking members 56 clamp the top and bottom frame slats 16 and 18 between block elements 44 and 50 in each sleeve member 30, 32. Each block element 44, 50 is threaded to receive locking members 56 from the top of either slat so that the sleeve member A may be interchangeably used on either slat.

  • Patent number: 4404994
Abstract: A rod hook device C, D is illustrated for holding and supporting a heddle rod 18 on a heddle frame 10 which includes a resilient slot B in which the rod is squeezed and held. Slot portion B is carried by a resilient neck A which flexes laterally to align a diagonal opening 40 of slot B in alignment for receiving the heddle rod. Return of neck A to an upright position squeezes rod 18 behind slanted protuberances 42 and 44 which define opening 40.
