  • Patent number: 11108891
Abstract: A social overlay is provided that allows an application to seek human input when performing high-risk decisions. The overlay allows an application to obtain data confidence scores when performing operations and to obtain human confidence scores that can be used to seek input from users with high confidence scores. This allows applications to improve performance and avoid situations where an automated application may make a wrong decision that does not account for the associated risk.

  • Patent number: 11042911
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for creating high value data assets from undervalued data. In one example, a method identifies at least one data asset associated with an enterprise which has a lower non-economic valuation score as compared with one or more other data assets associated with the enterprise and is determined to be undervalued. The method then combines the at least one identified data asset with at least one of the one or more other data assets to form a composite data asset, wherein the composite data asset has a higher non-economic valuation score as compared to the at least one identified data asset.

  • Patent number: 11044308
Abstract: Techniques are provided for dynamic communication protocol control in a communication environment. For example, a request is sent by a given processing node of a plurality of processing nodes to a computing system. Each of the plurality of processing nodes is operatively coupled to the computing system. Each of at least a subset of the plurality of processing nodes is configured to communicate via at least a first communication protocol with which each of the subset of the plurality of processing nodes share bandwidth. The request seeks usage of a given amount of additional bandwidth associated with the first communication protocol by the given processing node from one or more of the subset of processing nodes. One or more of the subset of processing nodes can then decide to cede the additional bandwidth to the given processing node and convert to using another communication protocol.

  • Patent number: 11038690
Abstract: A method obtains one or more transactions to be validated by a set of consensus nodes before storage on a digital ledger, and then selects, from a plurality of consensus algorithms, a consensus algorithm to be executed by the set of consensus nodes on the one or more transactions. The consensus algorithm selection is made based on a given policy associated with the one or more transactions. The method then tags the one or more transactions to identify the selected consensus algorithm, and sends the one or more tagged transactions to the set of consensus nodes for execution of the selected consensus algorithm for validation of the one or more transactions before storage on the digital ledger. The selection step is repeated when one or more additional transactions are obtained.

  • Patent number: 11032399
Abstract: A compute node currently operating within a given computing environment and currently enabled to support at least a first communication protocol obtains one or more instructions for enabling the compute node to support a second communication protocol. In response to the one or more instructions, one or more configuration parameters associated with the compute node are automatically reconfigured to support the second communication protocol. An automatic determination is made, in the given computing environment within which the compute node currently operates, whether or not to certify the compute node for the second communication protocol.

  • Patent number: 10956377
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for decentralized data management using a geographic location-based consensus protocol in a network of computing resources such as, by way of example, a highly distributed system. For example, at a given consensus node of a consensus network comprising a plurality of consensus nodes configured to participate in a consensus protocol wherein at least a portion of the consensus nodes are mobile, a list is obtained of at least a subset of the plurality of consensus nodes that are predicted to be currently available to participate in the consensus protocol based on geographic location information. A message comprising a transaction to be validated is sent from the given consensus node to the subset of the plurality of consensus nodes in the obtained list. Techniques are also disclosed for adjusting a data protection policy based on the number of computing nodes, some of which are mobile, available to participate.

  • Publication number: 20210004473
Abstract: A given policy file is obtained at a publishing node of a decentralized system of nodes, wherein the given policy file defines a policy that applies to at least a subset of nodes in the decentralized system of nodes. The given policy file is sent to a decentralized storage network for storage therein. Storage metadata is received from the decentralized storage network, wherein the storage metadata represents address information associated with storage of the given policy file in the decentralized storage network. The publishing node generates policy file retrieval metadata based on the storage metadata received from the decentralized storage system. The policy file retrieval metadata is sent to a blockchain network for storage therein. One or more querying nodes of the decentralized system of nodes access the blockchain network to obtain the policy file retrieval metadata in order to then retrieve the policy file from the decentralized storage network.
