  • Publication number: 20240120973
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a portable electronic accessory. The accessory has a body and a housing covering configured to attach to a portion of a human body or another external apparatus. The housing includes a satellite modem for (i) converting digital data received from a mobile device into first radio signals for transmission to a satellite, and (ii) converting second radio signals received from the satellite into digital data for the mobile device. The first and second radio signals are within a corresponding frequency band of the satellite. A wireless communication module supports two-way communications with the mobile device. A power source powers the satellite modem and the wireless communication module. Multiple antenna elements are coupled to the satellite modem that (i) radiate the first radio signals and (ii) receive the second radio signals. The multiple antenna elements each have a radiating surface facing an external face of the housing.

  • Patent number: 9443088
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure relate generally to methods and systems for pre-downloading at least a portion of a media event to a mobile device and the protection of the media content once it is downloaded to the device. Media content may be pre-downloaded to a mobile device before the official release of the media event and/or before a user has purchased the media event. The pre-downloaded media may be protected by one or more disruption to the presentation of the media content and/or by storing the pre-downloaded media in a trusted security zone of a mobile device. After the media event is released and purchased, the remaining media may be downloaded and a user may gain access to the full media content on the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 8494576
Abstract: A system for near field communication authentication (NFC) and validation to access corporate data is provided. The system comprises a mobile phone, an enterprise server, a building access sensor coupled to the server, and an enterprise network comprising a domain. The sensor comprises a NFC transceiver. The phone comprises a NFC transceiver and a trusted security zone which comprises private enterprise credentials and an application, where the application establishes a wireless link to the sensor via the NFC transceiver, couples the NFC transceiver with memory storing the credentials, and transmits the credentials to the sensor via the NFC transceiver. The enterprise server comprises a trusted security zone and an application stored in the trusted security zone, where the application receives the credentials via the sensor, authorizes access to the building based on the credentials, and authenticates the user to the domain on the enterprise network.
