  • Publication number: 20180296891
Abstract: A lightweight compression molded multicolor golf grip having at least a first section and a second section of differing colors and composed of elastomer compounds having a density of less than 0.90 g/cc, and joined by cross-linking across a sharply defined cross-color interface having an interface transition zone beyond which there is no mixing of the colors. The grip has a soft feel and unique compression characteristics achieved in some embodiments through the controlled use of an expanding blowing agent in a rubber compound including an EPDM mixture. Achieving the sharply defined cross-color interface is due in part to the use of complementary geometries at opposing interface edges to increase the stability of the interface and reduce the flow during molding associated with the increased viscosity of low density rubber compounds, promote cross-linking of the sections, and better distribute and control the consolidation pressure.

  • Publication number: 20180250566
Abstract: An improved golf club grip 10a, 10b, 10c with a well-defined and pronounced reminder rib 20a, 20b, 20c includes in one embodiment of the present disclosure a groove 32 positioned in the exterior surface 34 on each side of or surrounding a ridge 24a that extends lengthwise inside the body 14a of the grip 10a. When the golf grip 10a is installed on a golf club shaft 12, the groove 32 facilitates the flexing of the grip material for forming the reminder rib 20a. In another embodiment of the present disclosure, the grip 10b, 10c is provided with a raised portion 36 of a selected material in a select region on the grip 10b, 10c. When the golf grip 10b, 10c is installed on a golf club shaft 12, the raised portion 36 becomes the reminder rib 20b, 20c.

  • Patent number: 9844711
Abstract: The disclosure describes a flexible tubular grip for a golf club, particularly a putter, having the tubular portion formed of relatively soft elastomer with a closure or end cap molded therewith or pre-cured and attached over the end of the tubular portion. The end cap has a raised ridge extending about a portion of the end cap periphery and may have a raised discrete central portion, both of which absorb impact when the club is dropped into a golf bag.

  • Patent number: 9676094
Abstract: A flexible tubular elastomeric grip for an implement to be manually swung with force and speed, such as a golf club is provided. A flexible tubular member molded of elastomeric material has an open end for receiving the club shaft with a hardness in the range of 38-55 on the Shore “A” scale and has a substantially closed end which has a greater hardness in the range of 65-100 on the Shore “A” scale. The closed end may be integrally molded with the tubular member or as one piece or formed pre-cured and adhesively received in the cavity after molding. An open cavity formed in the closed end has received therein an insert which may be a transducer, RFID tag, tracking device, speed/acceleration sensor or decorative item. In one version, a peripheral rim lip retains and secures the insert in the cavity. In another version, inwardly extending arms are formed integrally with the flexible tubular member to retain and secure the insert.

  • Patent number: 7081197
Abstract: There is provided step apparatus comprising a mounting plate (60) colocated with a pintle hook assembly (61) of a vehicle. The mounting plate (60) has an upper extension (65) having formed thereon a pair of spaced lugs (66) adapted to mount a step assembly (67) comprising a moulded step member (70) secured to a step member support (72) having a pair of spaced pivot lugs (73). The step assembly is pivotally mounted to the spaced lugs (66) by pivot pin (74). The spaced lugs (66) are configured having an upper bearing surface (75) whereby in use the underside of the step member support (72) may bear thereon to take at least part of the step loads. The dimensions and configuration of the spaced lugs (66), mounting plate (60) and step member support (72) are selected whereby the raising limit of the step assembly (67) is defined by the bearing of the rear edge of the step member support (72) on the upper edge of the upper extension (65).

  • Patent number: 6091354
Abstract: In a ground penetrating radar system, A-scan images of subsurface targets lying along the antenna boresight axis can be substantially improved and generated in real-time by employing a synthetic aperture, end-fire array, despite the inhomogeneous nature of the subsurface volume. The synthetic aperture, end-fire array is achieved by generating electro-magnetic (EM) ultra-wideband impulses at a number of precise locations along the antenna boresight access, shifting the returned EM signals in the time domain according to the corresponding antenna boresight location, and then integrating the shifted, returned EM signals.
