Patent number: 12491331Abstract: A respiratory delivery system providing a bi-level pressure airflow. The system includes respiratory and pneumatic circuits. The respiratory circuit includes a respiratory gas supply, a patient interface, and a bi-level pressure regulator. The respiratory gas supply supplies a respiratory gas to the patient interface via a first conduit. The bi-level pressure regulator is coupled to the patient interface via a second conduit and is configured to cyclically alternate the respiratory gas passing through the bi-level pressure regulator between a low-pressure level and a high-pressure level. The pneumatic circuit includes a pneumatic gas supply and a pneumatic cycler configured to output a cycling pressure level. The cycler is coupled to the bi-level pressure regulator via a third conduit. The bi-level pressure regulator cyclically alternates the pressure level of the respiratory gas between the low-pressure level and the high-pressure level with the timing defined by the cycling of the pneumatic gas.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 2022Date of Patent: December 9, 2025Inventor: Stephen John

Patent number: 11951251Abstract: A respiratory system provides bi-level pressure using a dual pressure device in fluid communication with a source of breathable gas and a patient interface. The dual pressure device includes a pipe submerged in a liquid in a container, and a float disposed along the pipe. The float cyclically moves up and down the pipe between a lower position and an upper position as the floats buoyancy changes. The floats position along the pipe causes the gas pressure level to alternate between a baseline pressure level and a peak pressure level by selectively blocking and unblocking an opening in the pipe, and selectively capturing and releasing gas from the float, with the maximum gas pressure being limited by the setting on a pressure relief valve.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 2019Date of Patent: April 9, 2024Inventors: Anna John, Stephen John
