  • Publication number: 20220232890
Abstract: A consumable for a smoking substitute device contains a liquid aerosol-forming substrate, wherein the substrate comprises an infusion of solid tobacco-derived material in aerosol-former solution, and the infusion is combined with a nicotine formulation. The nicotine formulation may comprise a nicotine salt, particularly nicotine lactate. The substrate is obtained by macerating solid tobacco-derived material in aerosol-former liquid to form an infusion of solid tobacco-derived material and combining the infusion with a nicotine formulation. The tobacco-derived solids are macerated for a time period sufficient for the infusion to undergo a required change in physical characteristics (such as color or viscosity) or a required change in chemical characteristics (such as amount of nicotine release). Tobacco-derived solid may be visible in the substrate as an indicator that it is not a pharmaceutical product.

  • Patent number: 11365521
Abstract: A cleaning system for pavement joints controlled and driven by a motor. A wheeled housing carries a nozzle system where a stream of pressurized or forced air is directed through rotating nozzles to clean the joint surfaces. The rotational speed (RPM) of the motor is selectively controlled by actuation of a valve by the operator, and allows the operator to selectively control the rate of rotation of the nozzles are required by the state of the surface to be cleaned. A suction head is further movable over the joint surfaces to remove the debris dislodged by the nozzle system and airflow.

  • Publication number: 20220051255
Abstract: The subject matter disclosed herein provides methods for detecting and mitigating fraudulent transactions conducted over a network. This method can access one or more data values associated with an online transaction between a first party and a second party. The first party can initiate the online transaction. The data values can characterize an identity of the first party and the second party. A score representing a likelihood that the online transaction is fraudulent can be generated. The generation of the score can be based on one or more models for detecting fraud using the data values. The score can be compared to one or more threshold scores. The online transaction can be authorized or rejected based on the comparing. Related apparatus, systems, techniques, and articles are also described.

  • Patent number: 11182207
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for reducing the latency between the completion of a producer task and the launch of a consumer task dependent on the producer task. Such latency exists when the information needed to launch the consumer task is unavailable when the producer task completes. Thus, various techniques are disclosed, where a task management unit initiates the retrieval of the information needed to launch the consumer task from memory in parallel with the producer task being launched. Because the retrieval of such information is initiated in parallel with the launch of the producer task, the information is often available when the producer task completes, thus allowing for the consumer task to be launched without delay. The disclosed techniques, therefore, enable the latency between completing the producer task and launching the consumer task to be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20210349763
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention sets forth a technique for performing nested kernel execution within a parallel processing subsystem. The technique involves enabling a parent thread to launch a nested child grid on the parallel processing subsystem, and enabling the parent thread to perform a thread synchronization barrier on the child grid for proper execution semantics between the parent thread and the child grid. This technique advantageously enables the parallel processing subsystem to perform a richer set of programming constructs, such as conditionally executed and nested operations and externally defined library functions without the additional complexity of CPU involvement.
