  • Publication number: 20160010509
Abstract: In one or more of the inventive aspects, when a gas turbine system of a power plant operates at part load, a moisture content of fuel gas provided to the gas turbine system may be controlled so as to minimize combustion dynamics and/or to comply with emission requirements. The fuel gas moisture content may be controlled by modulating a flow of heated water to a fuel moisturizer. By using heated water from a heat recovery steam generator to moisturize the fuel gas, heat energy from the water may be transferred to the fuel gas, and the overall mass flow maybe enhanced to thereby increase overall combined cycle efficiency.

  • Patent number: 9170124
Abstract: Variable step tracking is described in which a monitoring station is operable to receive data signals representative of step movement of an asset as detected by a monitoring device carried by the asset. A database stores a step length of the asset. A step length modification module modifies the step length based on at least one of energy, asset orientation, direction, and frequency associated with the step movement. An asset position is estimated with respect to a known location based on cumulative step lengths.

  • Patent number: 9147284
Abstract: Generating a computer model to display a position of a person in a defined location is disclosed. A method includes the operation of selecting a substantially overhead image of a defined location having spatial coordinates. A perimeter of the defined location is marked using a graphical user interface. The marked perimeter is related to the spatial coordinates of the defined location. A computer model of the defined location is generated based on the marked perimeter. Multiple levels can be added to the computer model. Spatial coordinates of the person can be determined. The position of the person can be displayed relative to the computer model of the defined location based on the spatial coordinates of the person relative to the spatial coordinates of the defined location.

  • Publication number: 20150144330
Abstract: A method is for use with subterranean formations, such as oil and/or gas reservoirs. In some examples (e.g., production examples), the method improves the production from that formation. Some of the examples of the method describe selecting both an exertive force (e.g., a pressure) to apply at a wellbore, but together with a drawdown pressure at the wellbore to modify operations (e.g., improve production) at that subterranean formation. The selection of one or both of the exertive force and drawdown pressure may be based on the downhole environment at that wellbore, which can include the porosity and/or permeability of a near-wellbore formation radially surrounding a wellbore. The exertive force and drawdown pressure may be specifically selected to modify the porosity and/or permeability of the near-wellbore formation.
