  • Publication number: 20250145079
Abstract: An apparatus secured to a lamp of a vehicle is designed to release the lamp upon impact to the lamp. The apparatus may secure with a lamp housing as well as with a front end module of a vehicle. The apparatus may include a fastener that secures with the lamp housing. When the lamp is impacted, the fastener may shear (e.g., break), thus allowing displacement of the headlamp. As a result, pedestrians and/or objects impacting the lamp are less likely to incur damage. Moreover, the lamp is less likely to be damaged, and may be reinstalled when the fastener is replaced.

  • Publication number: 20250018878
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to an adjustable fastener to facilitate adjustment of an assembly that allows any two or more components to be adjusted relative to each other and control an interface region there between. An adjustable fastener can include features to facilitate adjustment in multiple axes and within particular ranges. Adjustment within each of the multiple axes can be achieved independently of each other. Such adjustment capabilities can help to improve the alignment of parts during and after assembly to achieve a desired arrangement with high precision and accuracy.

  • Patent number: 11229934
Abstract: A method of forming a fiber-reinforced composite part includes forming a composite preform by extruding a hollow metal shape onto a fiber-reinforced preform at an extrusion temperature and cooling the hollow metal shape from the extrusion temperature to a temperature less than the extrusion temperature. Heat from the hollow metal shape cooling from the extrusion temperature is conducted into the fiber-reinforced preform for curing thereof. Also, thermal contraction of the hollow metal shape onto the fiber-reinforced preform applies a consolidation pressure on the fiber-reinforced preform for curing thereof. The fiber-reinforced preform may be a hollow fiber-reinforced preform and a die can be moved through the hollow fiber-reinforced preform such that consolidation pressure is applied thereto by a combination of the thermal contraction of the hollow metal shape onto the hollow fiber-reinforced preform and the die moving through the hollow fiber-reinforced preform.

  • Patent number: 10814790
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a running board for a motor vehicle, and in particular relates to a running board with a roof access step and a corresponding method of using the same. An example running board includes a deck having a first section and a second section. The first section is configured to move between a first position in which the first section is substantially flush with the second section, and a second position in which the first section is raised relative to the second section. In the second position, the first section of the deck provides a roof access step.
