Abstract: Retortable packages including plastic closure caps are disclosed. The closure cap includes an end panel and a liner applied to the end panel. The finish contacting surface of the liner has a profile that is generally arc-shaped or torroidal-like prior to contact with the finish.

Abstract: A tamper indicating closure includes a cap having a top and skirt portion. A frangible connection connects an anti-tamper band with the skirt. The anti-tamper band includes a main body and a foldable portion hingably connected thereto. The foldable portion is foldable so that it is disposed within the volume defined by the main body. The foldable portion further comprises an edge for engaging the shoulder of a container at a recess below the shoulder and a plurality of tabs for engaging the shoulder to prevent “tiring off” of the anti-tamper band.

Abstract: Composite closures for plastic containers are disclosed. The composite closures include an end panel with oxygen barrier properties. The liner includes a sealing liner or gasket for sealing engagement with a container finish.

Abstract: A closure cap and method of making the same wherein an annular or ring-shaped gasket is injection molded onto the inner surface of a cap shell formed of plastic or metal. The annular or ring-shaped gasket includes radially extending tabs integrally formed therewith, one of said tabs being formed at a location wherein the plastic melt is fed to an annular gasket-forming channel in a mold core and another of said tabs being formed at the location wherein plastic melt is discharged from said channel. Preferably, said other tab includes a cold well formation which communicates with the annular gasket through a connecting portion of reduced cross-sectional area with respect to the cross-sectional areas of both the gasket and the cold well formation.
