  • Publication number: 20160325405
Abstract: A method for replacing a gas cylinder at an underside of a table. A length of an installed gas cylinder is measured. The installed gas cylinder is removed. A clamp is set on a new gas cylinder, wherein the new gas cylinder is compressed and set to approximately the length of the installed gas cylinder obtained from the step of measuring. The clamp is moved the new gas cylinder engaged thereto to the underside of the table. While still engaged to the clamp, the new gas cylinder is bolted to the underside of the table; and, the clamp is released from the new gas cylinder, as a result installing the new gas cylinder at the underside of the table.

  • Patent number: 9434053
Abstract: A compression tool suited for aiding the installation of gas cylinders, especially for the underside of fold-and-roll tables. The tool comprises a generally C-shaped clamp subassembly having a lower jaw, an upper jaw, and an arm. A spindle is connected through the upper jaw, the spindle having a spindle lower end. An upper channel member, preferably U-shaped, is connected to the spindle lower end, the upper channel member configured to travel axially along the spindle and engage a first eyelet of a gas cylinder. A lower channel member, also preferably U-shaped, is connected to an outer end of the lower jaw in alignment with the upper channel member, the lower channel member configured to engage an opposing, second eyelet of the gas cylinder, wherein the gas cylinder is compressed and secured within the clamp subassembly and immobilized for installation.

  • Patent number: 8544824
Abstract: A lift-assist apparatus, including an arm having a medial portion, a distal end, and a proximal end. One or more pulleys are attached to a surface of the medial portion. An upright support includes an upper horizontal bar and a lower horizontal bar, and a hinge point is formed medially on the upper horizontal bar. A turnbuckle has a fixed end and a connecting end, the fixed end attached to the lower horizontal bar, the connecting end adapted to attach to the medial portion. The hinge point is configured as a pair of opposing tabs defining a space in which the medial portion resides, wherein a pin can be inserted through each tab and through the medial portion to pivotally fix the arm on the upright support such that the arm can pivot in an upward and downward direction and be locked into a fixed position using the turnbuckle.
