  • Publication number: 20240131894
Abstract: A reefer truck power unit employs a plurality of power sources including roof mounted solar panels, momentum generation, shore power and high capacity storage batteries. The refrigeration system is configured for refrigerating a payload area of the vehicle utilizing power from the power sources, and employs a voltage converter for augmenting the power from the propulsion vehicle source for use with a native vehicle charging//starting system, and a transport load transformer for converting power from the power sources to 3 phase power for powering the refrigeration system. A bank of batteries stores power from the sources for subsequent dispersal to the refrigeration unit.

  • Patent number: 11944325
Abstract: A system for robotic surgery makes use of an end-effector which has been configured so that a drill connected thereto is guided in its trajectory and limited in its advancement into an associated anatomical feature by a drill guide. The drill guide may be adjusted manually to engage a corresponding surface of the drill after its advancement by a pre-selected amount. The drill guide likewise includes features to guide the drill during trajectories having oblique angles relative to the surface of the anatomical feature associated with the medical procedure.

  • Publication number: 20240098078
Abstract: A system for multi-factor location-based device verification is configured to receive a first location factor, which may include GPS data, from a client device. The system is also configured to receive one or more additional location factors, such as a second location factor and/or a third location factor, from first and/or second wireless beacons, respectively. The wireless beacons may be located within a predefined area, such as a sports book or another casino area, and the system may determine, based upon the one or more location factors, whether the client device is within the predefined area. As a result, the location of the client device may be verified based upon one or more location factors. In addition, in response to verifying the location of the client device, a new wagering account may be established and/or wagering may be initiated.

  • Patent number: 8341891
Abstract: A filter for use with a rain gutter will prevent solid debris, such as leaves, from entering the gutter, but will not unduly restrict passage of rain water into and through the gutter. The filter comprises a liquid permeable strip that can be formed of a material, such as reticulated polyurethane foam. This strip is supported at the top of the gutter by a support member, which can be a thermoformed member, affixed to the underside of the strip. Legs, which can fold transversely to the strip will support the strip above the bottom of the gutter. When the legs are in a flat configuration, multiple filter members can be stacked for storage and shipping. Installation is essentially toolless and the filters can be cut to length.

  • Publication number: 20070063853
Abstract: A remote tracking and communication device comprising a housing which encloses a processor, a memory, a position locator, a first transmitter, and a second transmitter. Each of the latter components are electronically coupled to the processor. Both the first and second transmitters are adapted to send and receive wireless voice and data signals in a digital format. The device further comprises a first battery, which is removably affixed to the housing and electronically coupled to each component within the housing, a speaker and a microphone electronically coupled to the first transmitter, and a button electronically coupled to the processor. When pressed, the button is adapted to activate voice communications with a call center using the first transmitter.

  • Patent number: 7117246
Abstract: An electronic mail system with a methodology providing distributed message storage and processing is described. In particular, this methodology breaks up how the individual components of message data are stored. Message data itself is broken up into two parts: a metadata (mutable) portion, and an immutable portion. The metadata portion represents that part of the message data that may change over time. This includes message status flags (e.g., the IMAP “message deleted” flag) and the message's position within a particular message folder, among other information. The immutable portion, which comprises the bulk of electronic mail data (namely, the message itself), once stored is never edited. Immutable data is written f+1 times on as many unique servers, to tolerate f number of server failures using Lampson's stable storage algorithm. The metadata portion is stored 2f+1 times on as many unique servers to tolerate f number of server failures using quorum voting.
