  • Publication number: 20240109564
Abstract: A method is provided that can include activating at least two wireless communication channels in parallel, between a first wireless transceiver and a second wireless transceiver. Each of the at least two wireless communication channels can operate at a different radio carrier frequency, and the first wireless transceiver may be part of a first vehicle. The method can also include transmitting, by the first wireless transceiver, common information in parallel on the at least two wireless communication channels to the second wireless transceiver and deactivating the at least two wireless communication channels.

  • Publication number: 20230079855
Abstract: It is disclosed an optical fibre unit for air-blown installations comprising: a first group of optical fibres embedded in a resin layer; a sheath arranged in a radially outer position with respect to the resin layer so that an annular space is formed between resin layer and sheath; and a second group of optical fibres arranged in the annular space. Also disclosed are an apparatus and a method for manufacturing such optical fibre unit.

  • Publication number: 20230073987
Abstract: According to one aspect, this disclosure describes a novel indirect weight sensing device, systems, and related processes. In at least one embodiment, the present systems include one or more springs with known properties, at least one metal plate on which the springs are fastened and through which the container load is transferred from the container to the ground, a spring deformation sensor by which spring deformation is reckoned, a digital level by which general orientation of the upper plate is determined relative to the ground, a computing unit to collect and process data from the spring deformation sensor and digital level, and an antenna or other such hardware to wirelessly connect to another device and interface with the computing unit.

  • Patent number: 11187863
Abstract: In one embodiment, an optical cable, which is a flat drop cable, includes a cavity shaped in the form of a stadium in a sectional view of the optical cable. The cable further includes an outer sheath enclosing the cavity, a first strength member, and a first optical fiber element disposed in the cavity. The first optical fiber element includes an optical fiber and has an oscillating pattern within the cavity on an oscillation plane parallel to a longitudinal plane of the cable. The height of the cavity in the sectional view substantially corresponds to a height of the first optical fiber element.

  • Publication number: 20150022362
Abstract: A wearable device may be configured to detect and alert wearers to improper movements at a body joint based on a comparison of a lateral angle and a bend angle of the body joint and/or based on measurements customized for an individual wearer of the wearable device. For example, a wearable device may determine a bend angle and a corresponding lateral angle of the knee. The wearable device may compare the determined bend angle and lateral angle with stored thresholds customized for the wearer. The wearable device may select a threshold from the stored thresholds with a bend angle that matches the determined bend angle. The wearable device may then determine whether the determined lateral angle matches and/or exceeds one or more lateral angles associated with the bend angle of the threshold. The wearable device may provide feedback responsive to a determination that the threshold was exceeded.

  • Publication number: 20060269051
Abstract: Data devices that receive data, store the data, and transmit the data without performing heavy computation. For example, such a data device may have a memory component and communication mechanism that transmits data and receives data. In the preferred embodiment, the data transmission would be wireless. Among other applications, one application of the data device would be to wireless payment systems. Some applications of the data device authenticate a user's identity via biometric technology requiring a low level of computing resources.
