The rotatable label is then rotated with respect to the inner label or container, thereby breaking the temporary bond formed by the temporary adhesive between the rotatable label and inner label or container. Alternatively, temporary adhesive may be disposed on the trailing edge of the rotatable label's back surface to allow the rotatable label to be easily removed from the container.

The rotatable sleeve device includes a sleeve disposed about a container, preferable positioned and held in place by at least one surface contour. In one embodiment, the sleeve is made of a rigid, but flexible material. The sleeve is formed with expansion joints such that the joints allow the sleeve to expand over the surface contour of the container in order to position the sleeve about the container or to remove the sleeve from the container. The rotatable sleeve further includes at least one transparent region which permits viewing of an underlying subset of indicia disposed on an inner label or directly on the container.

At least one perforation line divides the tamper-evident portion of the shell from the rotatable label portion and facilitates detachment of the tamper-evident portion.

Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for attaching a radially expandable rotatable label to a container. The expandable rotatable label is radially expanded and then longitudinally advanced over the container. After being expanded, the expandable label is permitted to contract into a tight, rotatable relationship with the container. The expandable rotatable label is preferably adapted with a transparent window portion to permit viewing of indicia disposed underneath the rotatable label. By rotating the expandable label relative to the container, a user can view written indicia disposed on the container or on an inner label affixed to the container.
