Abstract: An access point (AP) is configured to establish an Enhanced Broadcast Services, (EBCS) multicast stream between one or more backend servers and one or more non-AP stations of a wireless local area network (WLAN). The AP comprises a communication interface configured to transmit or receive a frame of the EBCS multicast stream, wherein the frame comprises a content identifier indicative of the EBCS multicast stream, an EBCS MAC address indicative of the frame being an EBCS frame, and a multicast address indicative of the frame being a multicast frame.

Such a method includes sending, by a first station to a second station, a discovery request comprising a link identifier indicating a non-access point (AP) multi-link device (MLD), wherein the first station and the second station are associated with an AP MLD. Such a method further includes receiving, by the first station from the second station, a discovery response. In some embodiments, the method further includes receiving, by the first station from an AP affiliated with the AP MLD, a message indicating a MAC address of the second station. In some embodiments, the discovery request is sent via an AP affiliated with the AP MLD and a non-AP station affiliated with the second station.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods and apparatus related to NDPA frame indication. An aspect of the disclosure provides a method. The method includes sending, to one or more stations (STAs), a request for channel state information (CSI). The request includes a null data packet announcement (NDPA) frame including a first field and a second field. The first field indicates presence of the second field, and the second field indicates a variant of the NDPA frame. The method further includes receiving, from the one or more STAs, a CSI feedback response based on the request. In some embodiments, the first field is one of a sounding dialog token field and indicates the presence of the second field via at least two bits. In some embodiments, the first field is a frame control field and indicates the second field via a 4-bit subtype subfield.

Abstract: A method for an access point (AP) to advertise that it supports Wi-Fi Easy Connect provisioning by broadcasting to devices, a frame that specifies the provisioning in question. The method includes, by the AP, receiving from a device, a frame indicating the device wishes to connect to the AP, and sending, by the AP, to the device a frame indicating the AP allows the device to connect to the AP. Subsequently, the AP and device follow the Wi-Fi Easy Connect protocol. Also provided is a method for an AP to advertise it supports a Wi-Fi Protect Setup (WPS) provisioning protocol and the Wi-Fi Easy Connect provisioning protocol to connect a device to the AP.

Abstract: A service type announcement element indicates one or more service types offered by an access point (AP) that supports station a wireless network. The service type announcement element is generated by the AP and included in a beacon frame or in a probe response frame. The beacon frame or the probe response frame is transmitted by the AP and received by a mobile device prior to the mobile device being associated with the AP. The mobile device makes a determination whether any of the one or more service types can assist with an operation of an application on the mobile device and implements a network selection algorithm based on the determination.

Utilizing an advertisement protocol to transmit service query messages, a mobile device may receive service query responses from a network that identify the services available prior to establishing network capability. In other words, the messaging is prior to the exchange of any authentication parameters between the device and the network as well prior to the establishment of a recognized session between the device and the network.

Abstract: A method of configuring a multiple Access Points (M-AP) set includes transmitting, by an access point (AP) initiating a new M-AP set, an information element including a plurality of octets. One of the plurality of octets indicates the presence of an extended capabilities octet of the plurality of octets. A bit of the extended capabilities octet indicates if an M-AP Coordinated Transmissions (CT) Basic Service Set (BSS) is enabled for this AP. A method of establishing a multiple Access Points (M-AP) set between APs includes transmitting, by a first AP, a first message advertising an M-AP Coordinated Transmission (CT) Basic Service Set (BSS), receiving, by the first AP, from a second AP, a second message advertising a second M-AP CT BSS, and initiate peering, in response to receiving the first message or the second message, used by an M-AP set including the first AP and the second AP.
