  • Patent number: 12294939
Abstract: Network information may be discoverable without requiring a connection to that network. For example, Access Network Query Protocol (“ANQP”) may allow a device to discover information about a network prior to the device associating with that network. In other words, ANQP allows a network terminal to request additional network information prior to establishing network capability. The additional network information that may be discoverable includes network latency, cellular capabilities, hotspot capabilities, mobility capabilities, neighbor reports, station identification, and multiple hotspot session identification.

  • Patent number: 12284599
Abstract: A mobile device may retrieve service information about a network prior to associating with the network. Utilizing an advertisement protocol to transmit service query messages, a mobile device may receive service query responses from a network that identify the services available prior to establishing network capability. In other words, the messaging is prior to the exchange of any authentication parameters between the device and the network as well prior to the establishment of a recognized session between the device and the network.

  • Publication number: 20250119458
Abstract: An access point, AP, (110) configured to communicate with a non-AP station (120) in a wireless local area network, WLAN (130). The AP (110) comprises a processing circuitry (111) configured to generate a nonce and a communication interface (113) configured to transmit a first message to the non-AP station (120). The first message (202) comprises the nonce. In response to receiving a second message from the non-AP station (120), the processing circuitry (111) is further configured to encrypt information about one or more policies. The information about the one or more policies identifies one or more policies to be applied by the non-AP station (120). The communication interface (113) is further configured to transmit a third message to the non-AP station (120). The third message comprises the encrypted information about the one or more policies.

The method includes sending, to one or more stations (STAs), a request for channel state information (CSI). The request includes a null data packet announcement (NDPA) frame including a first field and a second field. The first field indicates presence of the second field, and the second field indicates a variant of the NDPA frame. The method further includes receiving, from the one or more STAs, a CSI feedback response based on the request. In some embodiments, the first field is one of a sounding dialog token field and indicates the presence of the second field via at least two bits. In some embodiments, the first field is a frame control field and indicates the second field via a 4-bit subtype subfield.
