Abstract: The invention relates to a system and method for monitoring and controlling the performance of a task, such as for example, the construction of a building. The specific modules required to complete the task are identified and, in turn, the functions required to complete each module are identified. The performance of each function, the time taken to perform the function and other features are monitored. Typically the next function in each module cannot be performed until the previous function in that module has been accepted. An efficient and structured performance of the task is therefore achieved.
