Patent number: 12174877Abstract: A system and method for measuring the quality of data reporting in a given medical study is presented. The instant innovation abstracts all relevant medical literature pertaining to a particular disease and categorizes the data and the study for quality and/or completeness. In an embodiment the instant innovation provides a system for study intake, permits user-determined search optimization, and provides for study data tagging. The innovation automates term inclusion and exclusion, automatically removing duplicates of previously collected study metadata, and then subjects the terms to a real-time sorting algorithm. Statistical analysis is performed upon included and excluded terms, and a representation of geometrical closeness from central tendency of any given data element is computed. The data elements and computed tendencies are reduced to a 2D visual representation and delivered to a user. The user may interact with the 2D visual representation using a device.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2023Date of Patent: December 24, 2024Assignee: Nested Knowledge, Inc.Inventors: Karl J. Publication number: 20160004501Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for generating aircraft cabin control commands from verbal speech onboard an aircraft. An audio command supplied to an audio input device is processed. Each word of the processed audio command is compared to words stored in a vocabulary map to determine a word type of each word. Each determined word type is processed to determine if an intent of the audio command is discernable. If the intent is discernable, an aircraft cabin control command is generated based on the discerned intent. If a partial intent is discernable, feedback is generated.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 1, 2014Publication date: January 7, 2016Applicant: HONEYWELL INTERNATIONAL INC.Inventors: Satyanarayan Kar, Stephen Mead, Anupam Mazumdar

Patent number: 8609023Abstract: A method and apparatus for an automated biological reaction system is provided. In the processing of a biological reaction system, there is a need for consistently placing an amount of liquid on a slide. In order to accomplish this, several methods are used including a consistency pulse and a volume adjust means. Moreover, in order to reliably operate an automated biological reaction system, the dispenser must be reliable, easy to assemble and accurate. Among other things, in order to accomplish this, the dispense chamber is substantially in line with the reservoir chamber, the reservoir chamber piston is removed, and the flow of liquid through the dispenser is simplified. Further, in order to operate the automated biological reaction system more reliably, the system is designed in modular pieces with higher functions performed by a host device and the execution of the staining operations performed by remote devices.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 2000Date of Patent: December 17, 2013Assignee: Ventana Medical Systems, Inc.Inventors: Bobbi Druyor-Sanchez, Anthony Ford, Bronwen Heilman, Darin McDaniel, Brian McGraw, Stephen Mead, William Richards, Wayne Showalter
