  • Publication number: 20240392651
Abstract: A downhole system may include a housing disposed about a downhole tubular. The housing has a nozzle chamber in fluid communication with an annulus of a wellbore. The downhole system further includes a flow control device nozzle disposed within the nozzle chamber and configured to control a fluid flow rate through the nozzle chamber. The downhole system includes a ball disposed within the nozzle chamber. The ball is moveable to plug the nozzle chamber in response to fluid flow from the central bore of the downhole tubular toward the annulus. Additionally, the downhole system includes a piston chamber in fluid communication with the nozzle chamber and a central bore of a downhole tubular. Further, the downhole system includes a piston that is slidable within the piston chamber between a run-in position and an open position. The piston blocks the ball from traversing into the piston chamber in the run-in position.

  • Publication number: 20240392650
Abstract: A transition in the fluid composition of a production fluid is detectable downhole based on a rotational response of a rotor through which flow is directed. The transition is detectable, at least in part, based on different rotational speeds of different fluid compositions. The transition may be detected or confirmed by an anomaly in the rotational response (e.g., a temporary dip) due to an emulsion between two or more fluid components. The non-Newtonian behavior of the emulsion makes its presence easily detectable in a rotor chamber. The disclosed principles may enable a rotor to act not only as a power source but as a water cut sensor.

  • Patent number: 12152161
Abstract: The present invention relates to a polyurea coating composition comprising (A) a polyisocyanate; (B) a polyaspartic ester; and (C) an aspartic ester. The polyaspartic ester (B) is represented by the structure below: where Z=a cycloalkyl, alkyl or aryl group, R1, R2=alkyl groups containing 1-10 carbon atoms; and n=2-4. The aspartic ester (C) is derived from a secondary heterocyclic amine in a 3-7 membered ring compound bearing at least one secondary amine functionality. This invention also relates to use of a polyurea coating composition comprising (A)-(C) for the preparation of a polyurea coating. This invention further relates to a process for preparing a polyaspartic/aspartic ester mixture in-situ by initially reacting an ester of fumaric acid or maleic acid with a polyamine and then reacting the unreacted ester of fumaric acid or maleic acid to completion with a secondary heterocyclic amine.

  • Publication number: 20240388581
Abstract: Methods are provided that support media access control (MAC) address rotation (RCM) by generating a passcode for associating a user defined network by one or more endpoint devices instead of using MAC addresses for their respective device identity. In these methods, a computing device obtains a registration request for establishing a user defined network (UDN) and generates a unique UDN identifier and a unique passcode associated with the unique UDN identifier. The unique passcode enables an authentication of one or more endpoint devices to connect to the UDN. The authentication is independent of the MAC address of a respective endpoint device. The computing device provides the UDN identifier and the unique passcode such that the UDN identifier and the unique passcode are for connecting the one or more endpoint devices to the UDN.

Abstract: A magnet shield for use with a magnetic scale inhibitor includes a barrier configured for positioning at a location between the magnetic scale inhibitor and a flowbore for at least a first time period. The flowbore is configured for flow of a fluid. The barrier is: degradable in the fluid, such that, after the first time period, the barrier is no longer present at the location; and/or shiftable, such that, after the first time period, the barrier can be shifted away from the location. During the first time period, the barrier reduces or eliminates attraction of ferromagnetic particles to magnets of the magnetic scale inhibitor. A magnetic scale inhibitor tool comprising the magnet shield and a methods of utilizing the magnet shield and the magnetic scale inhibitor tool comprising the magnet shield are also provided herein.

  • Publication number: 20240388565
Abstract: Techniques herein facilitate a device address rotation management protocol that may be implemented for a wireless local area network (WLAN), which can be used to influence when wireless client devices or stations may rotate their Media Access Control (MAC) addresses, how to perform such rotations, and/or the like. In one example, a method may include providing, by an access point (AP), a first communication indicating that the AP supports a MAC address rotation management protocol; obtaining, by the AP, a second communication from a wireless station (STA) indicating that the STA intends to perform a MAC address rotation; and transmitting, by the AP, a third communication to influence the MAC address rotation of the STA, the third communication comprising a rotation status indicator and timing information.
