  • Patent number: 12175837
Abstract: In accordance with some embodiments, a physical game element such as a wagering chip or a playing card may be utilized to implement a promotion scheme on an electronic game table (e.g., using RFID or optical imaging technology). During a game it may be determined whether the element is associated with special functionality (e.g., entitles the player to a payout multiplier, special payout table, bonus prize or other benefit). The special functionality may have been previously associated with the element or associated with the element during the game (e.g., dynamically and/or randomly). In accordance with some embodiments a player is not able to readily discern the special functionality by a physical inspection of the physical game element and is only notified of the special functionality once the physical game element is used in a qualifying action (e.g., during a wager at an electronic game table).

  • Patent number: 12070757
Abstract: A method of recovering particles from a liquid, a froth flotation apparatus, and a method of recovering particles in a flotation cell are disclosed. In an embodiment, the method comprises a technique of exposing the particles to first-size bubbles having a first predetermined size; the first-size bubbles adhering to the particles; and exposing the particles in a liquid, with the first-size bubbles adhering to the particles, to second-size bubbles having a second predetermined size, the second predetermined size being at least approximately ten times larger than the first predetermined size. The method further comprises the second-size bubbles adhering to the particles and engulfing the first-size bubbles on the particles; and using the second-size bubbles adhering to the particles to recover the particles from the liquid. In one embodiment a first surfactant is used to form the first-size bubbles, and a second surfactant is used to form the second-size bubbles.

  • Publication number: 20240266084
Abstract: In a sodium fast reactor, a bypass pipe is fluidly coupled to the primary sodium pump discharge and diverts a portion of the primary sodium coolant to an instrument assembly. The bypass pipe routes flowing sodium upward toward the reactor head where it fluidly couples to the instrument assembly. The instrument assembly includes an instrument tank and selectively swappable instrument modules. The instrument modules can be configured to measure flow, pressure, temperature, and fluid level, among other things. The instrument assembly is located relatively close to the reactor head and close to the sodium level in the sodium pool and is accessible from above the reactor head for quick and efficient removal and replacement of the entire instrument assembly or individual instruments.

  • Patent number: 12033536
Abstract: A tangle free flag or banner that includes an anti-furling ballast system. The system is segmented and flexible, stitched into and sewn through the fly hem, featuring a compact design with ballast material packets of predetermined size and weight. Stitching and heat seals create a weighted-keel effect that balances expected flag-flying properties with anti-furling forces that prevent a flag from being tangled around a flagpole.

  • Publication number: 20240203201
Abstract: Systems, processes and articles of manufacture provide for a player identity verification system that allows a gaming establishment (e.g., a casino) to determine or verify a player's identity upon certain qualifying activities being determined (e.g., when a player is initiating a wagering session at an electronic wagering system or placing a wager). In accordance with one embodiment, a live image of a player participating in a qualifying activity (e.g., placement of a wager) is compared to a stored image of a player that is associated with one or more casino chips being used as the wager; a verification of the identity of the player placing the wager is performed by matching the live image to the stored image.

  • Publication number: 20240185675
Abstract: In accordance with some embodiments, a game table such an electronic baccarat table may be equipped with one or more detecting components (e.g., an RFID antenna, an NFC antenna or an optical reader) to identify gaming elements placed in a certain area of the game table and determine the status of each such gaming element. A specific type of transaction may be automatically inferred by the game table, without a dealer specifically requesting an initiation of a mode or process for the type of transaction, based on statuses of the gaming elements detected within the area and a current phase or stage of a game event. For example, a Change Transaction may be inferred upon the game table determining that both inventory and non-inventory game elements are present within the area of the table at the same time.

  • Publication number: 20240170997
Abstract: An ultracapacitor module may include an ultracapacitor cell stack containing one or more ultracapacitor cells. An ultracapacitor module may include a bidirectional boost/buck DC/DC converter. The ultracapacitor cell stack and the DC/DC converter may be configured to be connected in series with a voltage supply bus of a vehicle. An ultracapacitor module may include a voltage sensor configured to determine an operating voltage of the voltage supply bus. An ultracapacitor module may include an electronic controller in electrical communication with the DC/DC converter and the voltage sensor. The electronic controller may be configured to control the DC/DC converter such that the ultracapacitor cell stack operates in a voltage range that is 20 to 80 percent of the operating voltage of the voltage supply bus.

  • Patent number: 11852104
Abstract: A propulsion system includes multiple solid rocket motors that are activated by a single initiator. The rocket motors act in parallel, providing thrust in a single direction. The initiator activates an ignition charge that is in or operatively coupled to a plenum that transports hot gasses from the ignition charge to the rockets to be ignited. The plenum may be an annular plenum, which may be located in an annular manifold. The plenum may be an unchoked plenum, allowing flow of hot gasses without choking. The plenum may be lined with an insulator material. A cover may be used to cover the plenum, and also to receive the rocket motors. The rocket motors may be solid-fuel rocket motors. The individual rocket motors may have separate ignition booster charges coupled to the plenum, which are ignited by the ignition charge and which in turn ignite the propellant grains.
