  • Publication number: 20120287134
Abstract: A method for presenting drilling information includes presenting a display including a graph having a first axis and a second axis. The first axis represents a rate of penetration (ROP) of a drill bit into a borehole and the second axis representing a mechanical specific energy (MSE) of a drilling system that includes the drill bit. The method also includes plotting time based or foot based data with a computing device for one or more drilling runs on the graph and overlaying the graph with lines of constant power.

  • Patent number: 8160211
Abstract: An IVR signature detection and event management system facilitates real-time discovery and notification of abnormal behavior within an IVR system. The system collects metrics associated with usage of the IVR system. The system uses the collected metrics to define a baseline. Having defined a baseline, the system collects evaluation metrics for comparison to the baseline. Where the evaluation metrics deviate from the baseline beyond a threshold deviation, the system detects aberrance. The system triggers an event in response to the detected aberrance. The event may be a message, one or more corrective actions, or the like.

  • Publication number: 20100212852
Abstract: A process for the manufacture of a paper suitable for use in a laminated product is described. The process comprising: (a) impregnating the paper preferably on the paper machine with melamine resins dissolved in a solvent, the melamine resins being more than 80% water soluble; the solution having a solids content of less than 50% such that ink may be added to the paper following impregnation. Thus in contrast to established techniques, an ink-pattern is preferably added to the paper after the paper has been treated, preferably impregnated, with resin. In preferred embodiments the paper is calendered after addition of the resins in step (a). The paper can then be further impregnated after printing then combined with a substrate to form a laminated flooring product. Step (a) reduces the wet-expansion caused by the later addition of further resins and is especially useful when step (a) is performed before adding the ink-pattern which then also reduces wet expansion caused by the addition of ink.

  • Patent number: 7758399
Abstract: A vehicle toy combination includes a wireless controlled toy vehicle having a mobile platform configured to move over a surface. A central controller on the platform is configured to control at least one aspect of the toy vehicle. A hand-held manually actuable wireless controller is configured to remotely control user selected movement of the toy vehicle. An optical receiver is attached to the platform to look downward on the surface and is coupled to the central controller. The receiver is configured to read a predetermined reflective pattern located on the surface over which the toy vehicle moves. Multiple vehicles can be controlled simultaneously with multiple wireless, manually operated controllers operating at the same frequency by initially synchronizing the controllers to transmit in non-overlapping windows.

  • Publication number: 20080230054
Abstract: An oropharyngeal airway device (1) which includes a unitary tube (2) and a locating flange (6). The locating flange (6) forms, in combination with a first portion (4) of the tube (2), at least part of a mouthpiece (7) defining an inlet (8) to a passage (3). The flange (6) is adapted to locate adjacent an outer surface of the patient's mouth and the first portion (4) of the tube (2) extends into the mouth cavity. The tube (2) has a second portion (5), extending from said first portion (4), which has a distal end defining an outlet (12) to the tube (2) and which is adapted to extend to a location closely adjacent the base of the tongue. In use, the tube (2) is generally hook shaped with first portion (4) being substantially straight and the second portion (5) being of an arcuate form, extending obliquely from the first portion (4) and configured to follow the pharyngeal arc defined by the passage from the rear of the patient's mouth cavity through the oropharynx to a location adjacent the glottis.

  • Patent number: 7266919
Abstract: A motion-detecting note holder is disclosed. Such a note holder includes a note retention member, a motion sensor, a note-waiting indicator, and a controller in communication with the motion sensor and the note-waiting indicator. The controller, upon receiving a motion-detection signal from the motion sensor, causes the note-waiting indicator to provide a human-perceptible indication that a note is in the note retention member.

  • Patent number: 6947714
Abstract: An identification transmission system for use in an amusement device includes a transmitting antenna, a transmitter and a piezo-electric power source. The transmitter circuit is configured to broadcast a predetermined tone on a predetermined carrier frequency through the antenna. The piezo-electric power source is electrically coupled to the transmitter circuit and is configured to at least briefly provide power to the transmitter circuit. The piezo-electro power source includes a piezo-electric element, a striker, a storage capacitor and a voltage controlled switch. The striker is configured to move so as to at least briefly strike the piezo-electric element. The storage capacitor is configured to receive and store electrical charge from the piezo-electric element. The voltage controlled switch is configured to allow the storage capacitor to discharge through the transmitter circuit thereby providing power thereto after a predetermined amount of charge has been stored.

The remote control includes control switches, an encoder and a transmitter and the toy vehicle includes a receiver, a decoder and actuators for controlling the operation of the toy vehicle in accordance with received control signals. The encoder generates a continuous stream of control signal packets with each of the packets including a predetermined number of biphase encoded bits. Each biphase encoded bit is of the same predetermined width with a 50% duty cycle, including two transmit elements. For one binary state, both of the transmit elements are the same and for the other binary state both of the transmit elements are opposite. Each packet includes a first predetermined number of flag bits, a second predetermined number of data bits and at least one checksum bit.
