Abstract: A drive unit (10) for a roller shutter assembly is disclosed. The drive unit (10) includes at least two electrical motors (14) and a reduction gear train (12). Each electric motor (14) includes an output shaft that is mechanically coupled to an axle engaging means (20) via the reduction gear train (12). The electric motors (14) are operable to generate mechanical power generated by the combination of the electric motors (14) is coupled to the axle engaging means (20) via the reduction gear train (12) to wind a roller shutter of the roller shutter assembly onto or off an axle.

Abstract: A slurry coating composition is described, which is very useful for enriching the surface region of a metal-based substrate with aluminum. The composition includes colloidal silica and particles of an aluminum-based powder, and is substantially free of hexavalent chromium. The slurry may include colloidal silica and an alloy of aluminum and silicon. Alternatively, the slurry includes colloidal silica, aluminum or aluminum-silicon, and an organic stabilizer such as glycerol. The slurry exhibits good thermal and chemical stability for extended periods of time, making it very useful for industrial applications. Related methods and articles are also described.

Abstract: A computer-based method for vehicular part remote evaluation and management is presented. The method comprises obtaining from a first location description information regarding a state of a vehicular part. The description information is transmitted to a second location. The description information is analyzed in order to provide an assessment of the state of the vehicular part and the assessment information is transmitted back to the first location, allowing informed decisions to be made as to the disposition of the vehicular part.

Abstract: Provided are a system and method for recovering from failure of a path connecting first and second nodes in a communications network. In one example, the method includes identifying that the path has failed. Contexts affected by the path failure are deleted on the first node, and the second node with which the path was shared is notified that the contexts have been deleted.
