  • Patent number: 11583802
Abstract: A filter configured to photocatalytically oxidize target compounds in an air stream includes a support structure having an air permeability greater than approximately 155 CFM/ft2 and a photocatalyst supported by the support medium.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 19, 2016
Date of Patent: February 21, 2023
    Assignee: ZENTOX CORPORATION
Inventors: Joe D. Phillips, Stephen P. Axtell
  • Publication number: 20170273845
Abstract: Systems and methods of reducing airborne contaminants, such as airborne microorganisms, including bacterial, viral, and fungal microbes, in an indoor space are disclosed. The method includes positioning a portable photo-catalytic oxidation system proximate a source of contaminants in the indoor space and activating the photo-catalytic oxidation system to circulate air through the photo-catalytic oxidation system at a rate ranging from approximately 16 to approximately 24 air exchanges per hour in the indoor space. The photo-catalytic oxidation system is configured to oxidize contaminates in the air.

  • Publication number: 20140044591
Abstract: A photocatalytic oxidation filter including a support medium and a photocatalyst provided on the support medium is configured to oxidize target compounds within an airstream when irradiated by a light source. In one embodiment, the support structure has an air permeability of more than approximately 155 CFM/ft2. In other embodiments, the air permeability of the support structure may be at least approximately 200 CFM/ft2 or at least approximately 247 CFM/ft2. In another embodiment, the support medium is pleated and the air permeability of the support medium is less than approximately 155 CFM/ft2.

  • Patent number: 7767095
Abstract: A method and apparatus for implementing pathogen reduction within a poultry processing or food processing plant that uses water that has been treated with chloramines at an advantageous dosage before being introduced to the production process at processing steps. The water treated with chloramines may be from a fresh water source or reclaimed water from the processing plant. The reintroduction of the treated reclaimed water advantageously causes a dramatic reduction in the levels of microorganisms associated with poultry processing, while substantially conserving water use.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 5, 2008
Date of Patent: August 3, 2010
    Assignee: Zentox Corporation
Inventors: Joe D. Phillips, Robert P. Kim, Stephen P. Axtell, Sam M. Jaffe
