  • Patent number: 10306841
Abstract: Plants are grown in grow trays. The grow trays are placed on a shelf that has rollers mounted on a top side of the shelf and a first stop at a first end of the first shelf. The first shelf is tilted so that grow trays placed on the first shelf will tend to roll towards the first stop at the first end of the first shelf. A plurality of light panels is mounted on the light support system at various locations over the shelf so that a first subsection of the grow trays will be illuminated by the light panels and a second subsection of the grow trays will not be illuminated by the light panels.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 1, 2016
Date of Patent: June 4, 2019
Inventors: Philip Fok, Stephen P. Oster, Ken Stutzman

  • Publication number: 20160097526
Abstract: An adhesive cover for an electronic device includes an adhesive sheet, a transparent outside cover sheet and an illuminator. The adhesive sheet is for mounting on a cover or casing of the electronic device. The illuminator illuminates a media sheet located between the adhesive sheet and the transparent outside cover sheet.

  • Patent number: 8506135
Abstract: An LED light engine apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus may provide a simplified, modular method of retrofitting existing luminaires with high-brightness LEDs. The physical structure and method of mounting to the luminaire may enable the light engine to direct the light output such that a wide variety of light output patterns can be achieved in many cases without the need for custom reflectors or optics. The compact size and method and use of heat pipes for heat sinking to the luminaire may enable one or more assemblies to be placed into a luminaire, achieving higher levels of illumination than could be done with LEDs in the prior art.

  • Patent number: 6090296
Abstract: A novel UV-oxidation and UV-disinfection system uses a highly-efficient, electrodeless microwave-excited lamp combined with a coaxial flow-through reactor design in which a liquid to bc treated is pumped from the bottom of the reactor and flows vertically upward through a reactor vessel against gravity. A hydrogen peroxide solution is injected into the liquid to be treated and thoroughly mixed by an inline mixer just before the liquid enters the reactor vessel. The solution is irradiated during its entire passage through the reactor vessel by the lamp which is configured to evenly irradiate the entire cross section of the reactor vessel and which has a substantial part of its spectral output in the wavelength most effectively absorbed by hydrogen peroxide molecules. A method of using the coaxial flow-through reactor to destroy toxic chemicals in water is also provided. The reactor is also used for UV disinfection of water supplies. The system is scaleable to enable high-volume application.
