  • Patent number: 9095299
Abstract: A hollow disposable sleeve suction retractor. The sleeve suction retractor is an ergonomically shaped combination suction/retractor instrument for holding and retracting tissues, suctioning tissue pieces, blood and fluids and a surgical smoke plume from an electrosurgery device all at the same time. The suction sleeve retractor is comfortable to hold securely and allows a surgeon a clear line of sight on an area of tissue dissection. It can be used without the need for having another hand (e.g., surgeon's or an assistant, etc.) sponge or separate suction devices in a wound. It is economical to purchase and does not have to be sterilized or autoclaved since it disposable.

  • Patent number: 8617130
Abstract: An insulated disposable surgical fluid container. The container is doubled walled and includes an outer surface including an insulating material for reducing heat transfer from the outer surface to a surrounding area an insulating component separating the outer surface from an inner surface for reducing heat transfer from the inner surface to the outer surface and an inner surface comprising a fluid container portion for holding a fluid. The inner surface includes a thermally conductive material for spreading heat energy evenly over the inner surface and maintaining an isothermal temperature distribution on the inner surface, thereby maintaining an isothermal temperature of any fluid included in the fluid container portion. The fluid container portion includes a keel shaped bottom portion for accurately dispending and pouring irrigating fluids from the fluid container portion into a wound during a surgery. The container helps prevent perioperative hypothermia from irrigations fluids used during a surgery.

  • Patent number: 8608719
Abstract: A disposable partially flexible surgical fluid container. The apparatus includes a triangular shaped portion comprising a rigid fluid collection portion for storing fluids, a flexible sealing portion for creating a seal for catching surgical fluids, an ergonomic handle portion for grasping and holding and a horizontal bottom portion for standing the apparatus upright when placed on a flat surface. The flexible sealing portion includes a flexible, conformable material for conforming to flat, convex and concave wound surfaces and creating a seal between the flexible pouring portion and the wound surfaces to prevent leaking of collected surgical fluids (e.g., irrigation fluids, etc.) during a surgery.
