  • Publication number: 20150094597
Abstract: What is disclosed is a system and method for identifying a patient's breathing pattern for respiratory function assessment without contact and with a depth-capable imaging system. In one embodiment, a time-varying sequence of depth maps are received of a target region of a subject of interest over a period of inspiration and expiration. Once received, the depth maps are processed to obtain a breathing signal for the subject. The subject's breathing signal comprises a temporal sequence of instantaneous volumes. One or more segments of the subject's breathing signal are then compared against one or more reference breathing signals each associated with a known pattern of breathing. As a result of the comparison, a breathing pattern for the subject is identified. The identified breathing pattern is then used to assess the subject's respiratory function. The teachings hereof find their uses in an array of diverse medical applications. Various embodiments are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20120217767
Abstract: The wind blocker allows the simple and inexpensive manufacture of a wind blocker for the convertible C5 and C6 Corvette which utilizes illuminated text and/or artwork. The design of the wind blocker allows such text or artwork to be quickly and inexpensively applied based on customer requirements. The use of computer aided etching techniques allow the wind blocker to be cost effectively manufactured with custom artwork in quantities as low as one item. This allows the end customer to utilize any artistic design desired to create a completely custom, one-of-a-kind accessory for the customer's C5 or C6 Corvette.

  • Publication number: 20060078960
Abstract: In various aspects, the present teachings provide systems, methods, assays and kits for the absolute quantitation of protein expression. In various aspects, the present teachings provide methods of determining the concentration of one or more proteins of interest in one or more samples of interest. In various aspects, the present teachings provide methods of determining the absolute concentration of one or more isoforms of a protein using standard samples of signature protein fragments and parent-daughter ion transition monitoring (PDITM). In various embodiments, the absolute concentration of multiple isoforms of a biomolecule in a sample, multiple proteins in a biological process, a combination of multiple samples, or combinations thereof, can be determined in a multiplex fashion using the present teachings. In various aspects, provided are methods of assessing the response of a biological system to a chemical agent.

  • Patent number: 6565918
Abstract: A coherent rubber composition is produced by: (a) coating the rubber particles with a polymeric unsaturated hydrocarbon compound; (b) mixing the resulting coated rubber particles with a bonding material; and (c) allowing and/or causing the resulting mixture to form the desired coherent rubber composition. The polymeric unsaturated hydrocarbon compound is conveniently a compound having a long chain aliphatic structure, for example a hydroxyl-substituted polymer of 1,3-butadiene. The bonding material is conveniently a pre-polymer for a polyurethane or polyurea, having terminal —NCO groups. Coherent rubber compositions obtained by the method are well suited for use as play surfaces or sports surfaces.
