Abstract: A strap for holding a stringed instrument around the neck of a musician. The strap includes a stop disposed at a distal end for engagement with the instrument, between the instrument's face and finger board, substantially adjacent the instrument's neck and neck heel, such that the instrument may be safely and securely held around the musician's neck without regard to whether the instrument is in a “rest” or a “performance” position.
