  • Patent number: 5120221
Abstract: This dental clamp is for gripping a cylindrical abutment that is (i) mounted on an endosseus-type fixture that is implanted into a host jawbone and (ii) is located with its superior end tending to be flush with or beneath the exposed surface of gum tissue closely surrounding the abutment. The clamp comprises a pair of arms crossing each other in scissors fashion and a pivot joining the arms so that the portions of the arms on one side of the pivot constitute handles and the portions on the other side of the pivot constitute working portions. The working portions have free ends and confronting faces near the free ends that are movable together in response to the handles being moved together. Projecting laterally from the working portions are two flanges that bound a space of generally cylindrical form when the confronting faces are close together. Each of these flanges is shaped so as to be insertable between the abutment and the surrounding gum tissue.

  • Patent number: 4614412
Abstract: A mirror assembly for a vehicle, including a mirror unit which is mounted onto a vehicle windshield by means of a button and turtle arrangement. A connecting arrangement is utilized for connecting the mirror unit to the button and turtle arrangement which permits universally manipulatable orientation of the mirror unit. The connecting arrangement includes two colinear elongated cylindrical barrels. Appropriate swivel arrangements are provided within each barrel permitting swiveling to a desired position within one of a first set of planes which are perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the connecting arrangement and also permits selective swiveling to a desired position within one of a second set of planes which intersect each other at the longitudinal axis of the connecting arrangement. The two cylindrical barrels are pivotally connected to permit rotation therebetween. In this manner, the mirrors can be positioned as desired for sufficient flexibility to accommodate each drivers's needs.

  • Patent number: 4486075
Abstract: A mirror assembly for a vehicle having a mirror unit with a convex mirror on one side and a flat mirror on the other side. A support holds the mirror unit and couples it with respect to the vehicle. The mirror unit is arranged so that one of the sides of the mirror unit can be directed to face rearward of the vehicle. A manipulation mechanism provides selective inversion of the mirror whereby the desired one of the convex or flat mirrors can be selected as the rearward facing mirror.
