    Abstract: A cover for use with disposable plates, platters or other dishes of the type used by the "take-out" food industry is disclosed. The cover comprises a sheet of semi-rigid material such as paperboard having an area large enough to overlie the dish and is attached thereto by means of at least two slits through the sheet spaced from each other and dimensioned to each receive a substantial portion of the periphery of the dish thereby holding the cover in engagement with the upper surface of the dish to protect food thereon from contamination while tending to maintain the food at serving temperature.
