  • Publication number: 20250040708
Abstract: An actuating mechanism or system for moving components of a powered furniture seating piece, such as, for example, a seat section and a back support fixedly connected to the seat section, and an extendable footrest or leg support, between a first position or state at which the seat section and back support are not tilted or reclined, and the footrest or leg support is disposed at a retracted or closed position, and a second position or state at which the seat section and back support are both disposed at tilted or reclined positions, while the footrest or leg support is disposed at an extended position.

  • Publication number: 20250040709
Abstract: An actuating mechanism for a powered furniture piece comprises a base, a seat rail operatively connected to the base, a back support bracket, a footrest mounting bracket, an ottoman drive link, a linear actuator, and a control link, such that when the linear actuator is extended to a first predetermined position, the footrest mounting bracket will be moved from a retracted position to an open position, the back support bracket will be maintained at an upright position, whereby the actuating mechanism will be disposed at a TV position, and when the linear actuator is extended to a second predetermined position, the back support bracket will be moved from the upright position to a reclined position whereby the actuating mechanism will be disposed at a fully RECLINED position.

  • Publication number: 20240335039
Abstract: A two-motor lift and recline system for a powered chair comprises a base, at least one footrest/ottoman support bracket for mounting and supporting a footrest or ottoman thereon, at least one seat rail for mounting and supporting a seat thereon, at least one backrest support bracket for mounting and supporting a backrest thereon, a first linear actuator mounted upon the base and operatively connected to the at least one footrest/ottoman support bracket for moving the at least one footrest/ottoman support bracket between extended and retracted positions, and a second linear actuator mounted upon the at least one seat rail and operatively connected to the at least one backrest support bracket for moving the at least one backrest support bracket between fully upright and fully reclined positions.

  • Publication number: 20240292953
Abstract: A linear actuator and linkage system for an ottoman of a powered chair is disclosed an comprises an ottoman support upon which an ottoman is to be supported, a frame member, a plurality of linkage members operatively connecting the ottoman support to the frame member and for moving the ottoman support between a first closed/retracted position and a second open/extended position, and a linear actuator operatively connected to the plurality of linkage members for exerting a push force, in a first horizontally oriented direction, upon the plurality of linkage members, and for exerting a pull force in a second oppositely oriented horizontal direction upon the plurality of linkage members, the horizontally oriented forces providing the system with an enhanced mechanical advantage for easily moving the ottoman support. The powered chair is also uniquely adapted for use as a theater seat within stadium-type seating.

  • Patent number: 12022949
Abstract: A drive motor-linear actuator system, for use within, for example, powered chairs, comprises a single drive motor provided with a pair of output drive shafts, and a pair of laterally spaced, left and right-side linear actuators operatively engaged respectively with the pair of output drive shafts. In this manner, the single drive motor can simultaneously actuate both linear actuators in a synchronized manner. The linear actuators are disposed near the opposite left and right sides of the chair so as to provide enhanced stability to the chair while reducing the weight and cost of the chair since only one single drive motor is required to drive both linear actuators.

  • Patent number: 8535752
Abstract: An automated powder-coating system and method is provided. A series of conveyor belts are arranged end to end to transition one or more work pieces between the conveyor belts. Sensors are used to determine the current location of a work piece with respect to the series of conveyor belts. An induction heating coil for preheating work pieces and a powder-coating apparatus for powder coating work pieces are located adjacent to the conveyor belts. A control unit independently starts and stops the individual conveyor belts based on the current location of the work piece. A cooling area may also be included in the powder-coating system. The powder-coating system and method may be used to powder coat varying lengths of work pieces.
