  • Patent number: 8868699
Abstract: Methods and systems for enabling communication of information within a network are disclosed herein and comprise receiving at a first communication device located within a network, configuration information from a network service provider for configuring a plurality of communication devices located within said network. The first communication device located within the network can be configured based on at least a portion of the received configuration information. In response to a user input at a second communication device located within the network, at least a portion of the received configuration information can be communicated from the first communication device to the second communication device located within the network. • Patent number: 7706338
Abstract: A method and system for a bandwidth efficient medium access control (MAC) protocol is provided, which may comprise communicating a request to transmit (RTS) signal to a receiving station to determine if a channel is available for transmission. A clear to send (CTS) acknowledgement signal may be received from the receiving station if the channel is available for transmission. A plurality of medium access control (MAC) protocol data unit (MPDU) fragments separated by a point coordination function (PCF) interframe space (PIFS) interval may be transmitted in response to the received CTS acknowledgement signal.

  • Patent number: 7224723
Abstract: A system and method for handshaking multiple xDSL technologies is provided. More particularly, the present invention provides a means for new xDSL technologies such as VDSL to negotiate usage of bidirectional frequencies while maintaining backward compatibility with legacy, i.e. non-VDSL modems. In an embodiment, a central office modem configured to operate using VDSL technology provides a modified signal to a remotely located modem. The modified signal provides capability indicators to the remotely located modem that indicate the central office modem is able to use the VDSL bidirectional frequencies. However, the modified signal also maintains sufficiently similar characteristics to traditional capability indicators so that it can be interpreted by legacy modems.

  • Publication number: 20010042107
Abstract: The present invention contains a communications system consisting of a networked multimedia device (also referred to as a multimedia player) and a media server that may be located within a home network or an external network. Further it contains a method for selecting and delivering multimedia. Specifically, the instant invention focuses on solutions for multimedia content delivery from a centralized repository, via the home-networking infrastructure, to IP based multimedia devices, which are connected to that same network.
