Publication number: 20220023410Abstract: Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) virus replicon particles (VRP) are described. These VRP are capable of undergoing a single round of virus replication, but are unable to produce new particles or spread to neighboring cells due to the lack of the glycoprotein-encoding M genome segment. In some instances, the VRP contain one or more mutations in the viral ovarian tumor domain protease encoded by the L genome segment or heterologous antigens within its S genome segment. The VRP are shown to elicit a protective immune response against lethal CCHF virus challenge in an animal model.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 13, 2019Publication date: January 27, 2022Applicants: University of Georgia Research Foundation, Inc., THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, as represented by the Secretary, Department of Health and Human ServicInventors: Eric Bergeron, Scott D. Patent number: 7788834Abstract: The present invention provides a wearable article such as clothing, backpacks, hats, and the like that include a backlit lenticular lens display that emits light to allow animation and special effects. The array of interlaced images can be printed directly onto the electroluminescent panel, onto a removable support sheet, or onto the back surface of the lenticular. The electroluminescent panel is laminated to form a flange portion that is radio frequency welded to bond the lenticular display device to an article that is impregnated with a bonding material. A backing material having a fabric layer and a water impenetrable layer can be affixed to the assembly such that the fabric layer contacts the skin. Alternatively, the article may have a surface a display compartment or envelope with a transparent outer surface for enclosing the electroluminescent layer, a removable image sheet, and a lenticular lens layer.Type: GrantFiled: May 5, 2006Date of Patent: September 7, 2010Inventor: Stephen R. Publication number: 20080151369Abstract: The present invention provides a lenticular display that provides the perception of depth to the viewer, by printing a substantially opaque mat or border around an image which creates a three dimensional appearance or bevel affect. An additional image is printed within a portion of the mat which is not substantially opaque. The images and mat are printed simultaneously on the same planar surface of the lenticular sheet, and provide the visual affect of a raised mat which aesthetically enhances the image. The lenticular display is removably positioned within a housing that encompasses the periphery of the lenticular sheet and can be mounted to a wall, container, stand upright. An electroluminescent panel may be provided within the housing to provide greater visibility and an enhanced appearance to the image.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 16, 2007Publication date: June 26, 2008Inventor: Stephen R. Patent number: 6746171Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a ring binder assembly that includes a cover, a ring mechanism and a means to removably secure the cover to the ring mechanism. The removable securing means includes a pair of removable rivets. The removable rivets may in a first embodiment include a pair of resilient tail members that can be pinched together in order to pass through openings in the cover and the ring mechanism. The resilient tail members tend to have a diameter larger then the openings such that when the resilient tail members pass through the openings, the resilient tail members return to their larger diameter configuration. This permits a consumer or user with the ability to disassemble the components of the ring binder assembly and interchange these components with new components similarly configured. The user may then customize and personalize the ring binder assembly to their own specifications.Type: GrantFiled: January 25, 2001Date of Patent: June 8, 2004Assignee: Compton Presentation SystemsInventor: Stephen R. Publication number: 20020168250Abstract: The present invention includes a method of forming a ring binder. In the first step, creases are formed transversely across the binder board such that the creases define a spine area that partitions a defined front and back area. Next, a pair of holes is formed on the binder board sufficiently spaced apart to align with apertures on the ring mechanism. The ring mechanism may now be attached to the binder board either with a pair of removable rivets or normal rivets. Finally, the binder board is bent along the creases to form the ring binder. In alternate embodiments various number and positions of the creases are used to form different styles such as a flat back, round back, diamond back and 4 crease back.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 10, 2001Publication date: November 14, 2002Inventor: Stephen R. Publication number: 20020135177Abstract: The preferred method includes the steps of receiving a design, resizing the design to a predetermined size, separating the design into multiple images, which when properly tiled form the design, and printing the design on multiple sheets of paper. The article is preferably a binder having a pocket disposed about the binder's cover. The pocket has an interior length substantially equal to the predetermined size, which when the properly tiled sheets are inserted in the pocket the sheets form a single, continuous, unbroken design which is viewed through the pocket. The pocket is preferably a clear overlay but may include in various embodiments lenticular lenses, which provide the ability to insert a combined design interlaced, such that when viewed through the lenticular lenses at various angles results in the separate visualization of the two designs.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 26, 2001Publication date: September 26, 2002Inventor: Stephen R. Patent number: 6394729Abstract: The invention includes novel unibody binder constructions and the process of making same. The binder is composed of two plastic sheets comprising such material as polyvinyl chloride, polyolefin, polypropylene, polyvinyl acetate or other similar plastics. An uncompromised single piece of board or similar rigid material, such as chipboard, microflute board, corrugated board, fiberboard, etc., or a synthetic substrate, is then coated with a glue such as a resin glue, a U.V. adhesive, etc., on both sides and sandwiched between the plastic sheets. This sandwich is then formed into the unibody construction by welding the entire outer perimeter. At the time of welding, the air between the plastic sheets and the board is pressed or vacuumed out. To create the hinges on the binder, the unibody construction is then hydraulically creased to the extent necessary by using three moving blades to provide living hinges.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 2000Date of Patent: May 28, 2002Inventor: Stephen R.
