  • Publication number: 20220395772
Abstract: An ember-blocking vent screen for covering a roof vent comprises a screen section and at least two strips of pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) heavy duty tape attached at opposite edges of the screen section such that deployment portions of the tape strips overlap and extend transversely beyond their respective screen edges. The screen section is made of stainless steel or aluminum wire, has interstices sufficiently small to block passage of small minimum diameter embers therethrough, is lightweight, and is sufficiently malleable to be capable of conforming to the contour of the vent being covered. The deployment portion of the tape strips is such that deployment portions of the tape extend transversely (i.e.

  • Patent number: 10331884
Abstract: Methods, systems and computer readable media are provide for protecting stored data from ransomware. In an embodiment, the data is stored in an external drive connected to the processor. The connection between the processor and external drive is interrupted (e.g., open) except during a data transfer between the processor and the external drive. Connection of the processor to the external drive, permitted for a time period specified by a user or until the transfer of data is complete, occurs in response to manual actuation of a control means interposed between the processor and external drive and optionally, an indication from the user computing system that malware has not been detected on the device. The control means may be a mechanical switch or a fingerprint authentication device.

  • Publication number: 20090211132
Abstract: A system for mounting signage onto the door area of a vehicle is disclosed. The system includes a mounting assembly and a display substrate. The mounting assembly includes a series of brackets operable to capture the display substrate against the panels of a roll-up door system. Specifically, the brackets may include an upper bracket mounted to the uppermost door panel, a lower bracket mounted to the lowermost door panel, and a plurality of side brackets each selectively mounted to one or more of the door panels. The substrate is configured to flex at predetermined points to accommodate the pivoting of adjacent door panels during the opening/closing of the door.

  • Publication number: 20070062084
Abstract: The graphics display of U.S. Pat. No. 5,518,561 is modified by selectively actuating surface-conforming illumination layers positioned behind graphics and in response to external conditions and from a variety of sources. The external conditions include time, weather and, when the display is mounted on a vehicle, the vehicle location. Selective actuation of different sections of the display permit controlled changes in the display and special effects.

  • Patent number: 4250398
Abstract: A unitary, composite laminated article comprises an electrically insulating top layer and an electrically insulating bottom layer. Applied to the inner surfaces of each of these layers is a barrier layer substantially impermeable to moisture and water vapor. A substantially continuous electrically conductive layer of substantially uniform thickness is interposed between the barrier layers. The electrically conductive layer is comprised mainly of carbon and is capable of emitting electromagnetic radiation when an electric current is passed therethrough. In contact with the electrically conductive layer is electrical conductor means. The top layer and bottom layer are sealed together to thereby form an enclosed laminate. The electrically conductive layer exhibits very stable resistivity. The use of the article as a radiant heating device and a method for its manufacture are provided.
