C. and a porosity of at least 30%. The ceramic article may also contain a discrete porous oxide phase such as alumina, aluminates, silica, spinel, titania, zirconia, zeolites and mixtures thereof. Further, the porous oxide may also contain a metal oxide such as barium oxide, nickel oxide, iron oxide, rare earth oxides and mixtures thereof. The ceramic article may be used as a catalyst support.
