  • Patent number: 5158370
Abstract: A bag having a filling valve integral with and extending though an end closure section of the bag adapted to be sealed by electromagnetic field induction heating. Valves having a thermoplastic polymeric inner layer are provided with metal foil adjacent to at least a part of the layer as means for inductively heating the polymeric inner layer. Methods and apparatus of sealing a bag having such a filling valve are provided.

  • Patent number: 5098201
Abstract: A bag having a filling valve integral with and extending through an end closure section of the bag adapted to be sealed by electromagnetic field induction heating. Valves having a thermoplastic polymeric inner layer are provided with metal foil adjacent to at least a part of the layer as means for inductively heating the polymeric inner layer. The thermoplastic polymeric inner layer can comprise polyolefins and the metal foil can comprise aluminum. Methods of sealing a bag having such a filling valve are provided.

  • Patent number: 4949878
Abstract: A reusable container system comprising a container for holding a bulk quantity of liquid or other fluent material. The container has top, bottom and side walls, a port in the top wall of the container, a closure for the port having a tamper-evident connection with the container for indicating removal of the closure from the container, and a suction tube assembly attached to the closure and extending down into the container. A one-way check valve in the suction tube assembly permits flow of liquid out of the container but prevents flow into the container through the suction tube. The closure on the port is formed for releasable connection of a pump thereto whereby, after arrival of the container at a location where the contents of the container are to be dispensed, a pump may be releasably connected to the closure and then actuated to pump liquid from the container via the suction tube assembly.

  • Patent number: 4767035
Abstract: A container for fluent material in bulk quantity, having a top, a bottom, and at least one sidewall. This sidewall has a removable portion to form an opening in the wall adjacent the bottom of the container. A flange extends around the opening on the inside of the container, and a discharge tube of flexible sheet material is attached at one end to the flange. The tube is initially in a folded condition on the inside of the container and is accessible upon removal of the sidewall portion so that it may be pulled outwardly through said opening and unfolded for discharge of the fluent material from the container through the discharge tube.
