  • Patent number: 8720897
Abstract: Toy and game methods and apparatus including rectangular block elements layered to form a tower with upper and lower layers held by frictional coupling between the layers. The tower height increases during game play by removing blocks from one or more lower layers to build up successive upper layers upon an assembly platform. An upsetting element at the base transforms the blocks by dislodging the block elements with respect to the assembly platform by moving or traversing the assembly platform. A shifting mechanism may be provided in mechanical communication with the assembly platform for moving the platform between positions. A timer element establishes a predetermined time period from which the upsetting element transforms the block elements assembled atop the platform at an expiration of the set period of play time.

  • Patent number: 8070162
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a game having an instruction unit and a deck of game cards, with each card having game indicia. Game cards may be distributed to each participant, and each player in turn comparing the game indicia of the game cards to the game indicia of a top card of a discard pile. The game may further include discarding at least one of the game cards onto the discard pile if the game indicia of the player's game cards corresponds to the game indicia of the top card of the discard pile, and actuating the instruction unit to output a game instruction if the player determines that none of their game cards may be played on the top card. Still further, the game may include the player selecting additional game cards from the deck in response to the game instruction output by the instruction unit.

  • Patent number: 7059606
Abstract: A method of playing a game includes providing a plurality of stackable game pieces, at least a proportion of which are parallelepiped game pieces having at least one pair of opposed non-right angle parallelogram end faces and at least one pair of opposed rectangular surfaces. The game pieces are arranged in a stack having multiple layers including an initial upper layer. The multiple layers include a plurality of parallelepiped layers formed from the parallelepiped game pieces which are rested on one of the rectangular surfaces and nested relative to one another in each respective parallelepiped layer. A selected game piece is removed from any layer of the stack other than the upper layer. The selected game piece is then replaced on top of the stack to reconfigure the game piece stack. The steps of removing and replacing are repeated by one or more players until a new upper layer is formed on top of the stack or until the stack topples.
