  • Publication number: 20160332406
Abstract: A misting device includes a nozzle in close proximity to an article moving relative to the nozzle and a sensor for sensing a position of the article relative to the nozzle. In response to the sensor sensing a predetermined position of the article relative to the nozzle, a pressurized mist is selectively provided substantially only to a surface of a predetermined portion of the article facing the nozzle prior to at least one subsequent processing step of the article. The predetermined portion of the surface is conditioned by the pressurized mist and the predetermined portion of the surface remains conditioned during the at least one subsequent processing step of the article.

  • Patent number: 9358599
Abstract: An apparatus produces a tubular structure having a longitudinal axis and at least one form extending helically inward from the structure relative to the longitudinal axis. The apparatus includes an extruder including at least two spaced apart extrusion die surfaces adapted to extrude plastic state material therethrough. At least one extrusion die has at least one nonplanar channel having facing nonplanar surfaces configured and disposed such that during extrusion of the material through the at least one extrusion die, material flowing into the channel creates the at least one form. The channel surfaces direct material flow such that the at least one form and the structure exiting the extruder and last contacted by the at least one die of the extruder collectively helically rotate about the longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 9052039
Abstract: An extruded multiwall tubular structure formed from extrusion dies, the structure includes a core having a longitudinal axis and a first wall surrounding the core. At least one form extends helically relative to the longitudinal axis and between the core and the outer wall in supporting relationship therewith. At least the first wall and the at least one form lack residual strains, as a result of stress created by the manufacturing process, subsequent the structure exiting the extrusion dies. The core is concentric with the first wall.

  • Patent number: 9022210
Abstract: A lifter assembly includes first and second lifter segments movably attached to one another and defining a lifting channel having an expandable bladder contained therein. Each lifter segment has an arm extending away from a base of the lifter segment and a travel stop at a distal end of the arm. Each lifter segment further has a keyway opening. The keyway opening of the first lifter segment receives the arm of the second lifter segment and the keyway opening of the second lifter segment receives the arm the first lifter segment.

  • Patent number: 9022207
Abstract: A bridge for a conveyor system includes a bridge frame including a top support surface segment having a top support surface. The bridge frame further has first and second side walls extending downwardly away from the top support surface segment. Each side wall has a portion thereof with a radius of curvature substantially matching a corresponding conveyor roller. A portion of the first side wall extends toward and joins the second side wall, the second side wall further having a tail portion and a living hinge extending away from the tail portion.

  • Publication number: 20150119221
Abstract: An apparatus for forming a bending crease in corrugated paperboard includes a circumferential portion of a wheel. The circumferential portion has a width and a peripheral surface positioned to compressively rollably receive a corrugated paperboard between the surface of the wheel and a support surface. The circumferential portion includes a protrusion extending radially outward from the circumferential portion greater than 0.070 inch. The protrusion extends radially outward from a base to a tip opposite the peripheral surface, the tip having a width less than the width of the base. The protrusion is configured to form a crease in the corrugated paperboard, the crease having sufficient depth and a width less than or equal to the width of the base, thereby resulting in a bend line formed in the corrugated paperboard that is substantially coincident with the formed crease.
