Patent number: 11959377Abstract: Implementations described and claimed herein provide systems and methods for isolation detection. In one implementation, recorded data is obtained. The recorded data includes radial acoustic waves transmitted and received using a radial sensor of an acoustic logging tool deployed in a wellbore. Clockwise waves are separated from counterclockwise waves by converting the recorded data from a time domain to a frequency domain. The clockwise waves are shifted into shifted clockwise waves, and the counterclockwise waves are shifted into a shifted counterclockwise waves. A forward wave is generated by combining the shifted clockwise waves, and a reflected wave is generated by combining the shifted counterclockwise waves. One or more isolation regions are identified in the wellbore using the forward wave and the reflected wave.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 2020Date of Patent: April 16, 2024Assignees: CONOCOPHILLIPS COMPANYInventors: Geoff Steel, Mark Walsh, Stephen John Mayo

Publication number: 20230120131Abstract: An electronic system provides visual information to help a development person improve a machine learning model. The visual information includes logic flows, scatter plots, confusion matrices and instances of utterances which are related to poor performance. Guided by the logic flows, the development person is able trace scatter plots confusion matrices in order to identify weaknesses of the machine learning model being developed. A user interface help the development person then specify or indicate a request for additional training data, improved labels or an improved labelling guide. The logic flows, scatter plots and confusion matrices are used iteratively by the development person to repeatedly discover how the machine learning model can be improved and then getting the data to improve the machine learning model. A relatively unskilled person is able to develop a highly effective machine learning model using the logic flows, scatter plots and confusion matrices.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 30, 2021Publication date: April 20, 2023Applicant: SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO., LTD.Inventors: Tapas KANUNGO, Dmitrii SIAKOV, Stephen WALSH, Nehal BENGRE

Patent number: 10878084Abstract: Described is a system for secure management of recovery data for data protection assets such as backup data and a backup application of a production backup system. The system may provide the ability to synchronize and secure critical recovery data of an isolated recovery environment. Accordingly, the system may reduce the breadth of potential cyber security attack vectors and increase the likelihood of efficiently recovering critical data and/or applications. To provide such capabilities, the system may only activate a data connection between a production system and a recovery system when synchronizing recovery data. In addition, the system may apply a retention lock to maintain a set of immutable copies of the recovery data and may restore the recovery data to a sandboxed environment where it may be tested and verified before being deployed to the production system as part of a recovery process.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 2019Date of Patent: December 29, 2020Assignee: EMC IP HOLDING COMPANY LLCInventors: Stefan Voss, Sadagopan Balaraman, Stephen Walsh, Anthony Mullen, Eddie Pavkovic, Allen Yen, Andrew VanDamme

Patent number: 6925630Abstract: A method is described for generating code for loading and performing other processing operations on a multi-dimensional data warehouse. Databases are defined as entity-relationship data models, using a modelling tool. A source file is created, containing instructions for processing the database, and including one or more high-level directives. At system build time, the source file is pre-processed, by replacing the directives with code, using information pulled from the data model, to generate a destination file containing the code for processing the database. At run time, the generated code is processed to replace run-time macros, indicating physical storage schemes. The generated code is then run, to process the database.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 2000Date of Patent: August 2, 2005Assignee: Fujitsu Services LimitedInventors: Austen John Britton, Margaret Hazel Derbyshire, Mark Hinton, David Stephen Walsh

Patent number: 6076133Abstract: The invention is a computer interface with a hardwired button array on the computer chassis for simulating the apparatus of common consumer electronic devices. Each button of the array of buttons is connected to at least two wires, with the depression of a button causing an electrical connection between the corresponding two wires. The voltage on one of these wires is forced to a steady-state logic low, while the voltage on the other wire is allowed to float electrically free. Nonetheless, the second wire is at a steady-state high voltage due to that wire's connection through a pull-up resistor to a voltage source. Upon electrical connection, the wire that is floating free acquires a logic low voltage. In response, a line state detector sends an interrupt signal to a microprocessor, which transitions the voltage on the wires forced to a steady-state logic low from a logic low to a free floating state.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 1997Date of Patent: June 13, 2000Assignee: Compaq Computer CorporationInventors: James W. Brainard, Mark E. Taylor, Larry W. Kunkel, Stephen A. Walsh, Michael A. Provencher

Patent number: 5987537Abstract: The invention is a computer system with a button array on the computer chassis for simulating the operation of common consumer electronic devices. Each button of the array of buttons is hardwired to the system processor. Upon activation of one of these buttons, an interrupt signal is sent to the system processor. The system processor halts whatever it is doing, and subsequently identifies the activated button. A signal generator attached to the buttons then sends the system processor a second interrupt signal, such that upon exiting the handling of the first interrupt, the system processor is presented with a second interrupt. The system processor then handles the second interrupt. While handling this second interrupt, the system processor executes whatever function corresponds to the activated button. The system processor then exits the handling of the second interrupt and resumes whatever activity it was engaged in before the activation of the button.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 1997Date of Patent: November 16, 1999Assignee: Compaq Computer CorporationInventors: James W. Brainard, Mark E. Taylor, Larry W. Kunkel, Stephen A. Walsh, Michael A. Provencher
