  • Patent number: 10442043
Abstract: The invention provides a subsea torque tool (10) for a subsea vehicle system (such as an ROV), a drive head selection mechanism (30), and a method of use. The tool comprises a tool housing and a plurality of torque drive heads (22, 24, 26). The drive mechanism (17, 18, 20, 28) is operable to rotate the plurality of torque drive heads, and the drive head selection mechanism is used to select a drive head to impart a torque to a subsea device. The drive head selection mechanism comprises a rotary actuator (14, 32), and rotation of the rotary actuator effects axial movement of at least one of the plurality of drive heads between an operative position and an inoperative position. In another aspect, the drive head selection mechanism comprises an actuator operable from the exterior of the torque tool. In a preferred embodiment, the drive heads are sockets (22, 24, 26), and the selection mechanism comprises a rotary actuator and a cam mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20160346910
Abstract: A torque tool (10) for a subsea vehicle (such as a Remotely Operated Vehicle), a motor assembly (16), and a method of use are described. The torque tool comprises a tool housing, at least one torque drive head, and a drive mechanism operable to rotate the at least one torque drive head. The drive mechanism comprises a first hydraulic motor (17) having a first torque output and a second hydraulic motor (18) having a second torque output. The first and second hydraulic motors are operable to drive a common drive shaft (15). A preferred embodiment comprises a hydraulic motor interface device comprising a first interface surface on one side of the device configured to couple a hydraulic fluid supply to the first motor, and a second interface surface on an opposing side of the device configured to couple a hydraulic fluid supply to the second motor.

  • Patent number: 8959589
Abstract: In one embodiment, a server-implemented method for providing an image file. The server receives a uniform resource locator (URL) containing identification of a requested image file for display within the browser of a user, the URL including criteria specified by one or more parameters relating to the size and/or format of the image file to provide. The server determines whether a cached version of the requested image file satisfying the one or more criteria exists. If so, then the server provides the cached version of the requested image file for display within the browser of the user. If not, then the server (i) generates a processed image file by modifying a stored version of the requested image file based on the one or more criteria; (ii) stores a cached version of the processed image file; and (iii) provides the processed image file for display within the browser of the user.

  • Patent number: 6515992
Abstract: A method of inputting one or more items of information to a data destination (21). The method comprises generating the item(s) of information at one or more data sources (25-28); and for each item of information transmitting the item of information to the data destination in a data packet; calculating a time stamp value in accordance with the time delay between generating the item of information and transmitting the data packet; encoding the time stamp value in the data packet; decoding the data packet at the data destination to retrieve the time stamp value; and calculating the time delay associated with the data packet in accordance with the retrieved time stamp value.

  • Publication number: 20010019367
Abstract: A control system for controlling the operation of equipment such as a television and VCR via remotely generated signals in accordance with a first protocol. The system includes one or more remote controllers for generating equipment control signals in accordance with a second protocol. An STB includes a sensor for detecting control signals from the remote controllers, and a signal generator for generating and transmitting corresponding equipment control signals using the first protocol to the equipment. The STB causes the appearance of the remote controller for the equipment to be displayed on a display. The remote controller of the control system allows a user to interact with the display to select a control instruction from the displayed equipment remote controller.
