  • Publication number: 20250261081
Abstract: Some wireless communication systems include one or more user equipments (UEs) and one or more non-terrestrial network (NTN) nodes (e.g., satellites). In some approaches, a UE may collect report data, such as a minimization of drive test report or UE assistance information. When a NTN node operates in a store and forward mode, the NTN node may have intermittent connectivity with a core network. In some examples of the techniques described herein, a UE may store data collected when the NTN node is operating in the store and forward mode. The UE may transmit delayed report data based on the collected data to a core network when the UE has coverage from a terrestrial network node or a NTN node. For example, the UE may transmit UE location data collected when the NTN node is operating in the store and forward mode.

  • Patent number: 12389258
Abstract: A server may obtain wireless network coverage information from crowdsourcing devices, where the wireless network coverage information indicates characteristics of wireless network coverage at different locations along various routes of travel. The server may determine a wireless coverage map of an area based on the wireless network coverage information, where the wireless coverage map comprises, for locations along one or more routes of travel within the area, a respective wireless coverage indication indicative of a level of wireless coverage for wireless networks at the respective location. The server may send route-based coverage information to a mobile device for a particular route, where the route-based coverage information includes the respective wireless coverage indication, from the coverage map, for one or more locations along the particular route.

  • Patent number: 12382281
Abstract: Uplink high efficiency location of a user equipment (UE) includes initiating periodic or triggered location in the UE by a location server (LS) in a wireless network. The UE enters an idle state and monitors for triggering events. After detecting an event, the UE transmits an uplink positioning signal (UPS) to a base station, where the UPS encodes UPS data comprising a UE ID, an ID for the LS, an authentication code (AC) and location measurements. UPS transmission occurs in an uplink positioning occasion shared with other UEs. The location measurements may be ciphered but other UPS data is unciphered. The base station obtains additional location measurements and transfers the UPS data and the location measurements to the LS. The LS authenticates the UE ID using the AC, determines the UE location using the location measurements and transfers the location to an external client.

  • Publication number: 20250240604
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may receive a wireless message, broadcast by a network node, that indicates an alerting event. The UE may store the wireless message and transmit the wireless message to a second UE at a later time and via a sidelink interface. The second UE may similarly transmit the wireless message via a sidelink interface to other UEs. The transmission of the wireless message between pairs of UEs may enable the wireless message to reach more UEs in a target area when network nodes have been damaged or disabled, e.g., by the alerting event. The wireless message may be a WEA message and the alerting event may be a natural or man-made disaster.

  • Patent number: 12369109
Abstract: A method of wireless communication performs a public land mobile network (PLMN) search for a higher priority PLMN. The PLMN search includes a candidate PLMN having a different mobile country code (MCC) than a serving PLMN. The method switches to the higher priority PLMN when the PLMN search locates the higher priority PLMN. A method determines whether a user equipment (UE) has transitioned between an international area and a national area. The method triggers PLMN selection in response to the UE having transitioned between the international area and the national area.

  • Publication number: 20250234177
Abstract: Techniques are described to support call routing and location for a user equipment (UE) with satellite wireless access to a serving PLMN. The UE sends a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) INVITE message to a network node, such as a P-CSCF, that includes an indication of satellite access for the UE. In response the network node sends a request to another network node for a cell ID for a fixed cell in which the UE is located. The fixed cell can be independent of satellite radio cells for the serving PLMN. The network node may receive the cell ID for the fixed cell and sends the SIP INVITE message to another network node (e.g., an E-CSCF or LRF) with the cell ID for the fixed cell. The other network node may use the cell ID to route the SIP INVITE message or obtain an approximate location of the UE.

  • Patent number: 12355649
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for determining round-trip times (RTTs) between a user equipment (UE) and multiple base stations. In an aspect, the UE transmits an RTT measurement signal whose arrival time is measured by each of the base stations, and each of the base stations returns an RTT response signal whose arrival times are measured by the UE. In another aspect, the base stations each transmit an RTT measurement signal and the UE returns an RTT response signal. The receiver of the RTT measurement signal may include the measured arrival time in a payload of the RTT Response signal. Alternatively, the measured arrival time(s) of the RTT Measurement signal(s) and the transmission time(s) of the RTT Response signal(s) are sent in a separate message. The RTT signals can be wideband signals using low reuse resources.

  • Patent number: 12348810
Abstract: A processing system receives a user-generated media recording, and metadata associated with the user-generated feedback, from a first device. The user-generated media recording is a recording of the public end-user captured during a live media broadcast using a public-user interface on the first device. The metadata includes information linking the user-generated media recording to the live media broadcast. The system stores the user-generated media recording and the first metadata in one or more storage devices, and transmits a version of the user-generated media recording and at least a portion of the first metadata to a private-user interface on a second device. The private-user interface is configured to receive input from a private end-user selecting the version of the user-generated media recording for broadcast during the same live media broadcast during which the user-generated media recording was created.

  • Patent number: 12335904
Abstract: Methods and techniques are described for supporting location services for a user equipment (UE) that is using Narrowband Internet of Things radio access or Cellular Internet of Things features to access a wireless network. The techniques include enabling support for a last known location of a UE, using previously obtained location measurements, when a UE is not reachable from a wireless network for positioning. The techniques also include limiting positioning protocol interaction between a UE and a location server via a reduced maximum message size, reduced message volume and longer response and retransmission timers. The techniques further include enabling a UE to obtain location measurements when not connected to a wireless network, enabling periodic and triggered location of a UE in which a UE evaluates location triggers while not connected to a wireless network, enabling use of deferred location and enabling improved location security.

  • Patent number: 12335815
Abstract: During a positioning session between a user equipment (UE) and a location server, the location server may send the base station a request to suspend the Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection with the UE. For example, the location server may send a request to the base station recommending suspension of the connection or may provide an indication of the amount of time during which position related messages between the UE and the location server are not expected. The base station may determine whether to suspend the connection with the UE, thereby placing the UE in an inactive state based on the information provided. The base station may further determine whether to suspend the connection based on data activity of the UE. While in an inactive state, the UE and base station store UE connection context, which may be used to quickly resume the connection.

  • Publication number: 20250190632
Abstract: Applications written in memory unsafe languages, such as C, C++, and CUDA, are vulnerable to a variety of memory safety errors because they do not validate the bounds and lifetime of memory accesses. For example, spatial memory safety errors occur when a pointer is used to access an object beyond its intended bounds while temporal memory safety errors occur when a pointer is used to access an object beyond its lifetime. Memory safety errors can lead to control-flow hijacking, silent data corruption, difficult-to-diagnose crashes, and security exploitation. Unfortunately, existing software-based solutions either provide low error detection coverage or come with significant runtime overheads, and existing hardware-accelerated GPU-based solutions have poor scalability or intrusive hardware changes. The present disclosure provides memory safety using a combination of hardware and software.
